Summary: Disappointing....
Review: After a few minutes of reading the reviews for Betty Phillips book I was persuaded to buy it. After a few minutes of reading the actual book I so wished I hadn't!

I thought it would be a little different to read a book about an established relationship and all that occurs within it. However, the rather bland, blah, blah, blah style of writing, terrible punctuation, typos and general lack of editing just ruined any idea of a good read. Where have all the literary editors gone? So many books seem to be lacking their expertise nowadays!

I'm not sure how to describe the writing style.. it's like author is telling you about the characters and their story with some detail but the detail is all wrong somehow. You're told about people and situations that have no bearing on the actual story or even the main characters. You're told how great these people are, how beautiful these people are (even without make-up), how brilliant they are, how interesting they are and yet you don't really see it. They are quite one dimensional. The only time the writing seem to work, strangely enough, were the passages containing the family dog Chunk ... Lord knows why.

I was tempted to type out a passage or two that made me cringe and/or laugh at the dialogue but there were too many to chose from in the end. It's a shame Amazon didn't include a few sample pages to read like they used to, I don't think I would have bought the book if I'd had the chance to read a little of it beforehand ... but perhaps that's why there were no sample pages to read! hmmmm...

My advice, don't buy it if you haven't already, you can have my copy! If you've bought it and didn't enjoy it, well why didn't you say so.. it might have saved me some pennies.... heh heh

Summary: From The Heart
Review: TELL A FRIEND: An easy read, large print and captivating. I Read the novel in 2 1/2 days, and did not want to put it down. It made my laugh, cry and remember all of my human faults. You will see yourself and many of the people you have known. Why? It's about life (unless you have not lived). I look forward to Betty Phillips new book-BRAVO!

Review: What a refreshing book about the life of two women in love. We found the book captured the true essence of relationships and the consequences of our choices. We can't wait for the sequel!

Summary: The anatomy of a train wreck
Review: What happens when women don't give the attention to their relationship that they do for the rest of their lives matters. Well written and smooth flowing. I definately enjoyed the book. Being in a relationship even longer than the couple in the book I whole heartedly concur with the morale of the story - your relationship should come first.
