Lovers Who Stay With You

Review: The concept is fascinating, i.e, vampires, seduction, and gay sex. While the idea has an erotically charged potential, the telling and re-telling of the same story 28 times,with minor variations, begins to wear on the reader,leaving the reader unsated. Mr. MacMillan, the anthology's editor, stated in his "preface" that he "...wanted real stories -- no interchangeable, cardboard "tabs A" and "slots B" with shagging {sic} being the sole action -- ...." He claims that is what has been produced in this collection; he unfortunately is very wrong!
When I think of gay vampires in popular literature, I immediately think of Lestat and his vampiric colleagues. They tell a story, can erotically arouse, and leave one, as a reader, satisfied with a story well told. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for LOVERS WHO STAY WITH YOU. The anthology is terribly lacking. Think twice before buying it.
