Rating: Summary: The Funniest 'Life and Times' Novel I've Read To Date Review: I am into my third reading of this wonderful work of art by B.Keith Jones. I found myself laughing out loud on my train commute as I followed Ian Foster's journey through youth, hellish rebellion, criss-crossing the country as he smoked, fought, and 'dragged' his way to finding his 'inner self'.I cried probably as much as I laughed all the while wondering how will Ian survive the next disaster on the horizon. This is the best trip over, under, around and through the 'Rainbow' anyone can ever hope to experience. Kudos to B. Keith Jones. Your's is a rainbow I celebrate with joy and much admiration!
Rating: Summary: This Book is Blasphemous Review: I have read some trash before, but this one takes the cake. There is no redeeming value that I can find in this story. It was over 400 pages of filth, as far as I'm concerned. Though B. Keith Jones does have quite a way with words, and I must admit, one heck of a sense of humor, his attack on people of faith, and his attitudes on race were appalling to me. The 1 star I give this book is because the author does have a talent for writing, but he should choose his subject matter more wisely.
Rating: Summary: DILLIRGAF? is an extremely funny, exciting page-turner Review: It's hard to imagine anyone going through all that Ian James Foster does in DILLIRGAF and come out of it with their sanity in tact. As I read the book my mind was constantly spinning at the thought of it being based on the real life happenings of the author. I found that the reviewer who calls DILLIRGAF blasphemous missed the point completely. While it certainly could be a difficult read for the highly religious, due to the language, and sexual escapades, which in my opinion was very tastefully done, not at all pornographic, the message underneath was very real and quite spiritual. This became even more clear as I read the follow-up, "The Roomie Do Me Blues". B. Keith Jones has taken a very difficult and painful story and turned it into a humorous tour de force. The mere fact that DILLIRGAF? exist is a testament to B. Keith Jones being a survivor in the truest sense of the word. This book is proof that no matter where one has been in life, they can overcome it and move on to higher things. I tip my hat to Mr. Jones and look forward to the release of the final installment of his trilogy, "All I Didn't Say".
Rating: Summary: What a ride! Review: This book is crazy. I laughed myself silly. Ian James Foster and his friends are out of control and do things I would never even begin to imagine. Like the night he and his friend, the Gouche, went out and stole Christmas. Or how he and Charlie Downing moved to California, but accidently wound up living in Colorado with some strange Mexican woman who they were dumped on, at 3:00 in the morning. I really felt sorry for that drag-queen Tiffany. What they did to her was awful, but I found myself laughing then too. From beginning to end, as it says on the cover, "This ain't no story, this is a trip!" It really was and I loved every minute of it.
Rating: Summary: Destined to be a best seller. Review: This has to be one of the funniest books I've ever read. Nothing I've read before has made me laugh out loud like this one did. People on the subway must have thought I was crazy. I especially enjoyed the exploits of Ian and the Gouche. These two are priceless. Way to go B. Keith Jones. I can't wait to read The Roomie Do Me Blues.
Rating: Summary: Yes, he is a Dillirgaf! Review: When I started reading DILLIRGAF?, I had no idea what the word Dillirgaf meant. Once I got in to the book, I decided that Ian James Foster was a complete Dillirgaf, whatever that is----jumping from one rollercoaster to the next speeding train, and back to the super-duper rollercoaster again. From boosting X-mas trees, to out-dragging the queens and fighting them to going to sunny California and ending up in Colorado, the events were dizzying rides for me. I couldn't believe one person could go through so much stuff, then pick up and start all over again! I loved it, and can't wait to see how these rides ended up!
