Summary: Who are you kidding ?
Review: And why doesn't Amazon have a zero star rating ?. This is one of the worst books I have ever read. It's appalling ! Why ? here's why, you know the basic premise of fiction ? It is "show, don't tell" well, we get tell. Big time tell. And no show at all. The protagonists meet, for about 3 minutes, and then they meet again for about 2 minutes. And then ? then, one of them is in lurrrve !

And the fake angst begins ...

Do we see them fall in love ? No.

Do we even feel that they might be falling in love ? No.

I don't know how many pages it's in, and frankly I don't care to re-read this book to find out, but it's about page 12, when one character appropos of nuthin decides that they are in luurve.

This is shockingly bad stuff, you can get *way* better free over the internet. Avoid at all costs.

And if you want to know where you can get better for free ... email me, I'll give you a URL. And Frankie, if you want to give me my hard earned money back, or even enter a debate about how a good novel should be structured. e-mail me at the same addy.

And what do I know ?...

I really want my money back ...

Summary: Way Too Schematic, compared to "Room for Love"
Review: I guess Room for Love shows how far this author has come. Captive Heart is disappointingly thin, allowing hasty dialogue/third-person monologue declaring the cardboard characters' feelings and intentions to take the place of careful, evocative descriptions of places, and of persons with inner lives.

Summary: Great book
Review: This was one of the first lesbian books I read and my reaction was, if they're all like this, give me more. CJ is a woman who is used to having any woman she wants, until she runs into a police officer who seems immune to her charms. If CJ is going to capture the woman she wants, she's going to have to change her behavior. The question is, can she? This is a well developed story with some excitement and romance in it. Well worth the read.
