Rating: Summary: All that Glitter is not Gold Review: Don't be fooled by the snazzy layout and colourful emsemble that makes up this book. If you are a beginner to astrology and would like some eye candy and lavish colours to go with your reading, this is the book for you. But the serious student is advised to read other books. Though the categories explored in each of the twelve signs are diverse (Work, Home, etc.), the information is very superficial and can easily be applied to any of the signs at once. Ethics and compatibility charts are limited to squinting boxes at the bottom of each strip layout. Romantic images of men together abound throughout mainly as a feel-good attraction, with a few erotic nudes here and there and a plethora of colourful flora and fauna to top it all off. The book's clever design is meant for quick comparisons between signs and not very useful for in-depth exploration of different combinations.Beneath the lavish exterior, this is mainly a book of correspondences and quick consultations. It is really an escapist realm for the lovelorn man, an astrology picture book for grown-ups. Though it is nice to lose yourself in its feel-good and self-assuring attitude for a few hours, serious astrologers won't find much use for this. You'll be paying mostly for the images and not the words.
