Rating: Summary: Why should we celebrate moral relativism and degeneracy? Review: ...This propaganda piece cobbles together faulty, anecdotal research and shaky appeals to moral relativism in an attempt to marginalize the vast majority of people who correctly believe that pedophilia should be punished, not supported. Before anyone cries foul about my supposed "intolerance" for "imposing my values", read Koukl & Beckwith's very well-reasoned short book "Relativism: Feet Firmly Planted in Mid-Air", available here on Amazon.com. Moral relativism is a logically unsound philosophy, is completely insupportable, and cannot legitimize the kind of behavior this pro-pedophilia book espouses. By calling me wrong, relativists prove my point. (.....)
Rating: Summary: A must-read Review: As a boylover, I found this book extremely helpful. But it is not intended for the boylover community: it is meant for the general public who fear the phenomenon of pedosexuality. As such, it sets out to explain in plain language what this phenomenon is about. I would strongly recommend this book to the non-pedosexual public because it offers a valuable insight into a world totally foreign to them. By explaining what 'pedophiles' really are, it may help parents to understand that there may actually be benefits to such relationships. This book does not promote wanton sex with minors. It merely asks the reader to acknowledge the inherent sexuality of children. Nor does it glorify sexual abuse: in fact, it takes a strong stand against that. What it does is to deal with a reality that cannot be wished away. And what better way to equip yourself to deal with reality than to know the facts?
Rating: Summary: Joe Gardiner Loves this Book! Review: As a pedophile myself I found this book to be enlightening in my quest to truly come to terms with my own sexuality... Although it doesn't glorify child molestation it does attempt to shed the positive aspects of a healthy boy/male relationship... For anyone trying to understand this phenomenon that is fairly commonplace in society this brave book argues the point as well as any other...
Rating: Summary: An intellectually refreshing view on boylove Review: As we reach the dawn of the twenty first century, boylove is seen in a similar way that homosexuality was seen at the dawn of the twentieth century. It was seen as evil, wrong, and labelled other such ludicrous things. This book may be difficult for some to swallow, because it explores consentual man-boy relationships in detail. Most people will have trouble clearing the "child molester" mentality that has been drilled into their heads through the media all their lives. But I urge you to buy this book and read it with an open mind, because you may just be pleasently surprised. The fact of the matter is that relationships between men and boys, including sexual and non-sexual ones, can be extrememly beneficial, enjoyable, harmless, and beatiful. There's such a fear in society of sexual relations between an adult and a minor, when, as this book proves, there is nothing at all wrong with them. Enjoy this book, and try to think outside the square you live in.
Rating: Summary: Title and cover illustration explain my negative opinion Review: I strongly dislike this book for the following reasons: It is intended to convince those who dislike pedosexuality that it is a healthy lifestyle choice. It deals with a tragic reality. There are, unfortunately, many men in our society who participate in sexual relationships with boys. The book portrays these relationships between men and boys in a positive light. According to this book, the open-minded will realize that SEXUAL RELATIONS BETWEEN MEN AND BOYS can be harmless and even beneficial to the underage boys. It is, indeed, an "eye-opening" book. I believe the title and cover illustration reveal a lot about the unfortunate message and content of this book. Take a look and decide for yourself.
Rating: Summary: a valuable contribution to enlightenment Review: This book definitely puts an end to some of the myths of the "evil molester lurking in a trench coat on playgrounds to seduce children." It helps to understand the sexuality of children better as well as it provides an inside view on the everyday life of boylovers in the biographical section. Since in my opinion the other side (the boylovers) is usually not heard, it might even be a unique attempt to explain the motivations of boylovers to the public. It is a sensitive approach to a touchy subject. The book is very concise and provides further reading tips.
Rating: Summary: As if... Review: This is yet another pseudo-scientific argument offered in threadbare justification of the homosexual exploitation of youngsters. The APA "study" SafeHaven cites as "extremely exhaustive and thorough" is just as flawed and just as agenda-driven as the recently "peer reviewed" APA "study" purporting to "prove" that fathers are a hindrance to their own children's developmental health. Don't be fooled by selectively culled and massaged "statistics," glib rationalizations, anecdotal padding, and appeals to emotion. All this author has "proven" is that academic degrees and professional licensure are no guarantees of truthfulness, moral rectitude or even common sense. This book has nothing to do with "love," and there is nothing noble or innocent about sexual predators, whether the victim is an adult or, as in this case, a child.
Rating: Summary: A bold and honest inquiry Review: Whether or not one agrees with the positions taken by this author, one must admit that he has boldly and unequivocally gone into an area where few dare venture. He suggests that we take note of intuitive but suppressed insights that most boys and men recognize, look at the evidence presented by the Rind research team, and ask ourselves if perhaps what we have been taught all of our lives may be incorrect and in need of reexamination... The author presents his observations in a non confrontational manner, and then asks that each person put aside his preconceived notions while he considers these issues. The question now is if we, as the reading public, are able to rise to this challenge, or if we will dismiss the inquiry and lapse back into our iron clad biases.
