Summary: Tropical Storm a disaster in writing
Review: All I can say is it's a good thing I didn't have much else to do. I could hardly put the book down. Great story, it flows and is easy to read. The story line was fun while intriguing and touching...Melissa Good is truly and artist with words. I have already purchased Hurricane Watch and am looking forward to starting it.

Summary: Missy's first miracle.
Review: An uber with a duo every bit as vibrant as those in her beloved X&G sagas. Whoda thunk the world of corporate computing could be so darn entertaining and compelling. With one of the best rescue scenes ever. Dar and Kerry are alive and living in Miami.

Summary: It's very cute, but..
Review: But if I hadn't read Missy Good's Xena fanfic, I wouldn't find it nearly so interesting. Dar and Kerry share definite traits with Missy Good's versions of Xena and Gabrielle, and both have these odd flashback dreams to a previous life when they WERE Xena and Gabrielle which just wouldn't make any sense to me if I had gone into this cold. However, they and their relationship are impossibly cute regardless, and Dar's corporate snarkiness is absolutely hilarious. The book is kinda fluff, but it's adorable and pretty well-written fluff, save for one or two events that made me roll my eyes due to the required dramatic suspension of reality on the part of the reader. I'm reading it for the 3rd time currently, so it's not as though I don't enjoy the book.

Summary: Tropical Storm
Review: I read Tropical Storm and Hurricane Watch back to back. Both are thoroughly enjoyable and if you love Xena you'll undoubtedly love this book. Even if you don't, there's still a special something in the presentation of the two characters' feelings for each other.

As another reviewer said, this book could have benefited from some good, basic editing. Her legions of cyber fans may be willing to overlook the little flaws, but all the little things added up for me. I really liked the plot and I think she added some illumination to the characters that sets her apart from the other uber fiction writers.

It's so true of so many writers -- first published works can be a little rough. Fortunately, Hurricane Watch seemed to get all the attention that this book could have used. Tropical Storm is a must read for those who want to follow both the story and Melissa Good's career.

Summary: Hopelessly addicted to Dar & Kerry!
Review: It's been some time since I have read a book that I absolutely could not put down. Every free second I had was spent engulfed in the pages of Tropical Storm. And I have never been quite so obsessed, borderline unhealthy : ), with two characters as I am with these two women. Their passion and desire for each other is evident with every interaction from the beginning of the book to the end. The energy between them just spoke to me. I so dreaded the ending. Much to my partner's chagrin, I was ecstatic when I found out there was a sequel. And then a third book! Now I read that there is a fourth in the works! I am stoked!
This is an awesome book!

Summary: Good, but had problems
Review: This was the first "uber" piece I had ever read and I was pleasantly surprised by what a good story it was. I didn't know what to expect in the beginning, and even had a hard time getting past the first chapter. But, I persisted and made it through. Boy was I glad that I did. Ms. Good has written about two very strong characters who are different as night and day. I found myself intrigued by their relationship and couldn't wait to read more. I have now read all of the DaK series and would still say that this one is my favorite. However....
What I didn't like was the large amount of inconsistency in the story. At first Kerry's siter's name is Susan, then it's Angela. Her father's name is Kevin, then Roger. Kerry's personnel file says she's 26, but she tells Dar she's 27 (okay, I can overlook a birthday). There are at least four or five other inconsistencies that I can't think of right now...but it bugged me...a lot. The grammar was fine, in my opinion, but there were some typos which should have been caught during editing. And I don't buy Dar working for ILS for 15 years when she's only 30 (I may be bleeding into some of the other books).
The point of the matter is....honestly I really did like this book. That's why I continued to keep reading the other stories. Yes, I wish the love scenes had just a little more "umph" to them and I wish Kerry wouldn't say things like "oh, poo." I gave this four stars, mainly for the continuity issues....but it is a good read and I would recommend it to my friends.

Summary: An excitingly well written romance!
Review: Tropical Storm is a romance that set my heart racing! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I am in the midst of re-reading it already. Melissa Good has stirred the imagination and heart with this work. Those who enjoy her internet-based writing will be inordinately pleased by the quality of this book. I am utterly hooked on Dar and Kerry. The love they find so unexpectedly is magical yet the troubles they must overcome in order to find themseves and each other are arduous. They are such inspiring characters that I hope to read many more works by Ms Good. I am also looking forward to seeing if the movie which is to be made of Tropcal Storm can express the magic of love nearly as well as the book.

Summary: A story with heart
Review: Tropical Storm is an excellent book! Missy Good is an exceptional writer with the ability to draw people into her stories and touch their hearts and souls. I've been reading other reviews on Tropical Storm where people didn't have as high opinion of Missy Good as I and her fans have of her, and their criticism of the book really hurts and angers me. They say her writing needs better editing. This makes me wish I could call 'em up and tell them that if you look and judge a story just because of it's editing and grammar, then go read an encyclopedia or something. Very few errors there. The content of the story is what counts the most. This is a story about two very different, extraordinary people who love each other very much. The heart in Tropical Storm is what makes the story so great. Another complaint is that the story is just another stupid Uber-Xena Fanfic. I won't lie and say that I don't LOVE Uber fanfic. I do, so my viewpoint may be kind of biased, but I really think it's great that we see people like Xena and Gabrielle in different times and situations. They're fascinating characters and to see how they might have lived in a different life is really neat. But in Tropical Storm, while Dar and Kerry are both like Xena and Gabrielle in the Uber sense, the characters are still very very different. You can't look at the characters in this book then watch the show and see an immediate similarity. The characters of Dar and Kerry are much more indepth and drawn out, giving us a look into their souls. They are two characters that you can just love and feel for. So please don't put down Tropical Storm or Missy Good. If the story writing is a little rough, who cares? If you're gonna read the story, just READ it. Don't judge it. Don't critique it. Just enjoy it =). It's a great read, folks.

Summary: thoroughly enjoyable lesbian romance!
Review: When I got this one, I couldn't put it down. I had the same reaction to the sequel, HURRICANE WATCH.

Great stories. Wonderful characters.

In fact, I recommend almost every book from Justice House Publishing. I've read about 1/2 dozen of them so far, and have enjoyed each one. (Just wish they were easier to get, and didn't have such a long order lag time!)

Fans of the Xena tv series will especially love this one. The central characters seem to be based on Xena and Gabrielle. Imagine those two women as IT professionals in the current day....

Good reading, folks!
