Summary: My God!
Review: A definate must read for anyone who appriciates healthy doses of twisted humor. Quite witty. I can see this book as a movie....

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: It's the written equivalent of "people watching"...
Review: Filled with colorful characters, funny situations, and a surprisingly strong narative thread, "Hello Darling" is a real treat & a great summer read. There's a sick joy in watching a newly broke character still having to mingle with his still high-in-the-hog living friends. Great concept! Great characters!

I didn't find all the drug use THAT disturbing because these characters are hardly role models in any way shape or form in the first place. My ONE critique came at the end, where I feel that Everett kinda wimped out...any book that ends with a question mark is well...questionable.

Summary: Light yet humerous
Review: I myself am a great fan of Rupert Everetts and so was keen to get this book. Reading previous reviews I was also curious as to its content, for some say that it is semi-biographical. I enjoy reading and have found this a good light read before bed, though I would like to see what Mr. Everret is like at writing something a little more complex and serious. I recomend this book to anyone with an open mind.

Summary: Light yet humerous
Review: I read this book as a lark, and that's exactly what I got. At times hysterical, histrionic, and bittersweet, Everett's book romps along in a world of sex, drugs, and extraordinarily dubious morals. Although it does at times drag, you know it will only be a page before another side-splitting line will make you laugh at loud. Highly entertaining, Lady Beth.

Summary: I don't agree...
Review: I really did not find this book enjoyable, in fact I gave up half-way through. It was more confusing than funny and I could not feel any sympathy for the characters. It was just a bunch of caricatures idiotically fumbling their way through a meaningless life... The humor was so far-fetched, and sometimes just too obvious, that the book never even extracted a chuckle out of me. I could see how some people might enjoy it, it did have a lot of extravagance, arrogance and simple lunacy in it... but it did not work for me.

Summary: A very fun read!
Review: I've had this book for 4 years and have read and re-read it over again. The dialogue is wonderfully funny and the story moves along at a quick pace. Ideal characters and you can really sense that this book *is* semi-autobiographical. I wish Amazon would carry his other books!

Summary: Brilliant Satire!
Review: It has to be doesn't it? Contrary to the book jacket this can't be a thinly veiled life of Rupert Evertt, but instead a ruthless commentary on the "jet set."
I found the book in the library and had to read it. Everett is an amazing actor so I thought I'd give his fiction a try. Absolutely phenominal! I was reminded of Evelyn Waugh or Oscar Wilde throughout the book. The only disappointment was the ending...I want more of Rhys, Adrienne, and especially Peach! What a super scream!

Summary: So cute
Review: The first line is absolutely great, and the book stays at that the level the whole time. It is full of imagination, and made me laugh more times than I could count.
