Rating: Summary: Finally, a book that can really help! Review: Is there hope for the homosexual? Can a homosexual change? "Yes," is the answer to both of these questions by the author, a former homosexual and former minister in a pro-gay church. In his book, Roberts takes a candid and revealing look at his own homosexuality and states common environmental traits as the cause of his, and other's homosexuality including: sensitive temperament, sexual abuse, passive father/domineering mother, lack of affection/affermation from same sex parent and picked on by peers, among others. These environmental aspects created the same sex attraction in him and others, and steps are shown that can be taken to overcome and change them. The book also examines with sensitivity what the bible says about homosexuality, dispelling some major misconceptions, but always showing the true heart of God. The perspective is complete and in depth and takes a revealing look at homosexuality. I was not surprised at all by the outcome, as these were things I actually heard speaking to me in my own heart. Don't be scared off by the academic appearance in some parts of the book. In it there are practical, obtainable and achievable applications that I found out to have actually helped me overcome my own struggle with homosexuality. They really do work. Through the book I was able to realize that God still loves even me, in spite of all my shortcomings and that change, something I desire most of all in the depth of my heart, is possible and can be accomplished. By applying the methods outlined in this book, I have seen change in my own personal life and I know that complete victory over homosexuality is feasible. What the author states in the book works. I know, without a doubt, that there is hope for all homosexuals and that change is really possible.
