Summary: Hilarious, fun read
Review: I loved Nancy Drew mysteries as a kid because they were about girls getting out and doing it for themselves (and, come on, her best chum is a tomboy named George!). Now thanks to Mabel Maney, I can get the same effortless pleasure out of these girl mysteries for an enlightened age. The only flaw is the ending -- I won't spoil it for you but it throws kind of a heavy-handed PC note into an otherwise light 'n frothy adventure. Still, this is a great read, and if it gets you thinking, that's a plus. Highly recommended.

Summary: She could make me a stalker!
Review: I read this book a few years ago after seeing an article about Maney in the SF Bay Times. I thought she was kinda cute so I bought her book. I read a few Nancy Drew mysteries in my younger days, but nothing as interesting as this! Very funny and clever.

Summary: You've GOT to read it!
Review: I remember reading TOO many Nancy DREW books when I was a young girl. Now that I'm all grown up, have a cynical mind and like my humor sarcastic I read Nancy CLUE!! Get a CLUE and read this one!

Summary: A Lite Read
Review: If you're the type who typically knocks out a novel in a night or two then you'll probably enjoy this book. It's too silly to plod through if it generally takes you more time than that to get through a story though. I personally felt that the book would have been a lot better if the author had only alluded to the characters' sexuality by using inuendo and symbolism instead of coming right out and revealing almost all the characters to be queer. I think a tongue-in-cheek approach would have made for a much funnier parody of the 50s kids sleuth genre. I guess that by making all the characters openly gay in a story that's set in the fifties or early sixties the author was trying to make some point but I just didn't really get it I suppose. (Don't get me wrong. I'm all for being openly gay in real life but just not in this one particular story.) Another thing that I found mildly irksome was that it's supposed to be a "Nancy Clue Mystery". Yet the character of Nancy Clue doesn't come in until at least halfway through the book and is really only a supporting character. Finally, I think the author could also have benefitted by keeping the book about the same length as a real Nancy Drew mystery. At over 200 pages with moderately small print this book was just too long for its subject matter. However, I did find the book to be entertaining enough to possibly read future installments in the series.

Summary: Holiday reading
Review: Light-weight, no-thought-required fun. A better read than the Case of the Good-for-Nothing Girlfriend.

Summary: Hilarious! I couldn't put it down.
Review: Mabel Maney is a legend! All the Nancy Clue mysterious are so enjoyable to read and are all so camp. All my friends keep borrowing my books now. It's really annoying because I want to re-read and re-read.

Summary: Hilarious, fun read
Review: This is a hilarious take off of the Nancy Drew mysteries. Mabel Maney brings Nancy and Cherry to life in the 90's. It's a must read for any one who loves mysteries and is openminded.

Review: This is one of the funniest works of lesbian fiction I have ever read. I could not stop laughing. I've loaned it to friends and given it as a gift. Not only is the content hysterical, the style is hilarious as well.
