Summary: Unh Uh
Review: I actually returned this book to Barnes and Noble about two days after I bought it. I can't find a word to describe how disappointed I was. Suffice it to say that reading the first few chapters of the book reminded me of brushing my teeth and drinking orange juice afterwards. Its aftertaste was unbearable and the book absolutely had to go. The dialogue and premise are lame. The book simply feels like words on paper. At no time, was I able to even remotely begin to care about the characters' lives. It was flat, unengaging. A waste of time.

Summary: Good Story
Review: I tried to read this book slowly, but that just didn't happen. It moved at such a pace I couldn't put it down. I liked Zarembski's first book, which lead me to Embers in the Sky. Her improvement as an author really came through in this book. I read a lot of books and Zarembski is going to be one that I will keep going back to. She is a staple on my bookshelf with the way she captivates you with her stories, and makes you feel for her protagonists, she is an amazing new and refreshing author.

Summary: Another confusing book
Review: In this second book, the author revisits some of the characters of the first book. Not quite a sequel, but one gets the idea of where everyone is and how their lives have progressed.

In my opinion, this is another confusing book. In the end I didn't know if the main character (Darla), ended up with whom she really loved. When she was with Paula, Paula was who she loved and would ALWAYS love, when she was with Lili, Lili was the one she loved. Even with the other lover she had (Melanie I think) was confusing. Although she didnt really seem to love this one, not at the end anyway (at least that was clear). And don't get me started on Paula, who seemed to be in a commited relationship (and cheater for weeks) that offered her no happiness whatsover, but had to try. Come on!

Lili, of course, jumped into bed with Mel because Mel lost her lover. Yes, sure, it is a good excuse to go to one's ex on an aniversary day, and bring her to your home - and the GF has the keys to the apt -. And she could not spare a couple of minutes to let Darla know she would be late or something. Had Darla known, she might have been waiting for her and nothing would've happened (Although I would not trust a GF who would sleep with an ex just because she needs extra comfort). I would've been better if she was in bed with her because she was really comforting her, hugging her or something. And naked because she put Mel in the shower (who was extremely drunk). That would've been better.

Well, I had to read it because I had already bought it and wanted to give her (the author) a second chance. It is like when you watch one of those bad movies, you have to finish watching it to see what happens at the end.

Summary: Good Story
Review: The story itself was wonderful. I could not put the book down because I wanted to find the "happy ending". However, I was constantly pulled away from the story by the poor editing. There are too many uses of words that are incorrect, words completely missing from a sentence, and the use of improper grammar. The overuse of the word "sexy" became annoying. It would have been nice to have the two characters that really seem to be soulmates end up together, but the book was made more real by the ending the author chose. I'd love to read more from this author, but I can not bring myself to overlook the constant interruptions that a good editor would have eliminated.

Summary: Well done
Review: The title of this book was the first thing to catch my eye and after I read it, I fell in love with the story. Everything flowed and I absolutely fell in love with all the characters. At times my heart broke for the main character Darla, I really began to care for her. I can't wait to read more from this author.

Summary: Big Improvement
Review: Zarembski's writing improves a great deal in her second effort. The slow pace and wallowing angst of Visions of Sarah have lightened for this tale, and I would recommend it for a fun, light and entertaining escape from life.
