Review: As pre-Algebra is to Calculus, this book is to sex and gay relationships. Further, it is poorly written, both stylistically and grammatically. The author needs a decent editor.

Review: I bought this book as a college student just coming out, and still have my worn and faded copy of the first edition more than twenty years later. It was a great revelation and comfort to me--first for its sensible how-to advice about sex, second for the whimsical line drawings that made gay sex seem not only normal but downright fun, third for the inserted section of beautiful, sexy photographs of men loving men (way before Tom Bianchi and company), and fourth and most importantly, for the way Mitch Walker conveyed the spiritual side of sex--a lesson I've often flouted, alas, but never quite forgotten.

I haven't seen this reprint, but assume that the advice has been updated with the requisite information and warnings about safer sex and AIDS, sadly necessary now in any manual of this sort. I hope the illustrations and photographs have been kept, though they may have fallen victim to changing standards of male attractiveness--when, oh when, is facial hair going to come back in style?? Anyway, I'm glad it's available again and would recommend it highly to any gay man, and especially to men just coming out and exploring their sexuality. May it help them as it helped me.

Review: I just received my copy - I like it ! I like the interracial photos, and I like the simple style. No great revelations in this book....could there be ?

It is erotic and I think it just says 'this is gay sex, this is how you do it, go off and do it'. No great philosophy or search for great meaning, simply he's a man, you're a man, and go off and explore.

I find it quite a liberating little book ....more so than Joy Of Gay Sex which is encyclopaedic.....this is a 'get up and run with it' manual, and I think it is refreshingly clear.

Summary: Everything you need and want to know is right here
Review: This book is called 'Men Loving Men: A Gay Sex Guide and Consciousness Book' and it has exactly what the title says, it is full of valuable information about the gay lifestyle, from getting to know a man to dating to having sex with another man...

I also brings awareness about the gay lifestyle, from the risks you take when you decide to become an active gay man, such as AIDS and other diseases, to advices on how to have a good gay lifestyle.

As I said, everything you need and want to know is i this book.

A must have for the gay men, and the gay couples.

Summary: The best
Review: This book remains the best book on gay male sexuality that has been written. It views sex in a holistic manner as part of an individuals whole self rather than as merely a mechanical activity to be approached like plumbing. The chapters are concise and get right to the point without making sex appear to be rocket science. The cute drawings from the original edition remain but as a previous reviewer suspected, the photos have all been redone to fit the current popular gay media image (ie: early twentysomething twinks). ...Mitch Walkers book is brilliant.
