Rating: Summary: Entertaining and Informative Review: Aaron Lawrence has written an entertaining and informative look at how a young, not particularly hunky or attractive college student without defined career aims, drifted into the male escort business and made himself into a truly hot commodity, to judge by his own stories and the ratings of his performances on various internet sites. While the writing is occasionally awkward (he could have used a top editor, but a top publishing house was unlikely to touch this material), the authorial voice is clearly focused and everything sounds quite realistic. He's not afraid to include material critical of himself, including the fascinating story of a federal law enforcement official who "hired" him to try to persuade him to quit escorting, and the doubts that encounter raised in Aaron's mind. One feels for him, sympathizes, and -- if gay -- wants to meet him in the sack.
Rating: Summary: A real look at all that's good and bad about male escorting. Review: Aaron Lawrence pulls out all of the stops in his first book. An honest (sometimes harsh) autobiography, Suburban Hustler gives us a real look at what it was like for a heavyset New Jersey boy, lonely and deeply in debt, to rise to become a sexy and successful call-boy by using the Internet. At once it is funny, sexy, surprising and just a little bit sad. This is an excellent book and one that you will want to read several times.
Rating: Summary: Best of the best..... Review: Having read several books on male prostitution and always being disappointed with the very poor quality of the wriitng, I was ecstatic that Aaron wrote this very detailed, comprehensive and well written book. His tales of getting started as an on-line escort to how he was able to work out his professional life with his personal life are a testament to how true love can over come any obstacle. I highly recommend reading this book if you have ever had any interest in the subject of male prostitution. You will not be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: A sad story of a young man who thinks money is all-important Review: I am sorry to write a dissenting view from those of Aaron's friends but I was actually saddened to read Mr Lawrence's book.He is plainly an intelligent and sometimes even thoughtful man, but overall his obsession with making money is disturbing. It is as if he feels that making money will somehow validate him as a human being. There are times when his sense of shame is very apparent. The mere fact that he lies about what he does for a living to his family members and uses a false name says it all. You only lie about something if you are ashamed about it! The fact that on one encounter his prospective 'john' warned him of the consequences of his actions and he ended up in tears speaks volumes. Plainly this guy, whoever he was, hit a nerve. My suspicion is that Aaron is probably a sex addict. If he retired from selling his body tomorrow how long would it be before he was unfaithful to his boyfriend - as if he isn't unfaithful every time he sells his body to another man. With the intelligence Mr Lawrence (or whatever his name actually is) has he could undoubtedly reach his material goals which seem so important to him in other ways. My fear is that he is going to wind up losing his looks, and being qualified for nothing when he gets to thirty-five years of age. There aren't that many openings for aging rentboys. They too often become the flotsam and jetsam of life. This sad little book should be required reading for anyone considering selling his body as well as a case study for psychologists studying narcissism in gay men.
Rating: Summary: Hot and Interesting Review: I found this book to be sexy, humorous and interesting. Aaron shares much about his life and adventures in being a male escort. He is brutally honest about his experiences and you learn about the business and his customers. He is honest without being mean or negative about his customers. I couldn't put the book down. I highly recommend it

Rating: Summary: TOTALLY AWESOME!!! Review: I read this book twice in one sitting! It's totally engrossing. It's really good for a first time writer. I am totally intrigued by this book and the author. I highly recommend this book as a "must-have" along with beethoven's symphony no. 9. At times I want to laugh, at times I want to cry.

Rating: Summary: Insightful and Entertaining Review: I really enjoyed this book, in fact I enjoyed it so much I read it in one sitting. When one story was completed I couldn't wait to read the next one and before I knew it, I had finished the book. I thought it showed you from an insider's view how rewarding and anxiety filled this type of profession could be. It was at times both funny and frightening. I highly recomend this book to anyone whoever thought of being an escort or even using an escort.
