Rating: Summary: This is a Fun Mystery! Review: This is not a book for the serious mystery fan, but it's a mystery book that is a lot of fun to read, with many comical situations, that will keep you laughing out loud on a lazy afternoon or evening when you need to relax. Sometimes you find a good book like this to take you away, and this author has certainly worked hard to make that possible for those of us who enjoy a good gay sleuth story. Michael Stark has it all; looks, lots of money, and a handsome new boyfriend named Max Crawford. Michael even surprises his best friend Robert, when he makes the declaration he is going to settle down with Max, and give up his wild lifestyle. Next, before you can count to ten, Michael is planning a big wedding. Oh, how all of New York will envy him. To Michael's surprise he finds himself left standing on the altar alone. Where is Max? How could he do this to him? Max enlists Robert's help in getting even no matter the cost. Michael is in for a lot of surprises in his investigation that he could never have dreamed would happen in all of his meant to be perfect gay life. Thus the mystery begins, as this novel goes in directions you would never expect and locations you would expect. It's a lot of fun, and would make a delightful movie. Take some time out and enjoy this one! Joe Hanssen
Rating: Summary: ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIC!!! Review: This is one of the best mysteries I've read in a LOOONG time! I can't keep remember the number of times I laughed out loud. I hope David Stukas is going to bring back Robert, Michael and Monette because I'm looking forward to more adventures with them!
Rating: Summary: Wow Fun in the Sun in Frocks and Murder !!! Review: This was a novel I could not put down and was sorry that I hadn't so that my pleasure would not have ended so soon as when I came to the end I wanted nothing more than to re read it again. Loved the characters and hope that the second installment ( going down for the Count ) is as good. For a new writer his style is fresh and fun. My next question is when are they going to make the movie as I would love a cameo role as one of the Drag Queens :o)))
Rating: Summary: Worthless junk Review: Warning to everyone who enjoys well-written, well-edited, engaging, typo-free, funny novels : stay away from this book. Clichés abound, the plot is thin, and the characters unconvincing and dull. Tired jokes are pasted throughout the story. My disbelief of something so mediocre getting pubIished kept me reading, hoping it would get better. It didn't. A waste of paper, time and money.
Rating: Summary: Ewww! Review: Well, as a gay man I tend to find this type of fiction where all gay men act and speak more like teenage girls pretty offensive. However, if it was really funny, I guess I could make allowances. But here, funny passes for streotypical queens speaking and acting like a bunch of stupid, shallow girls. And, as one reader already pointed out, this really is no mystery. Save your money.
Rating: Summary: A Giddy Good Time Review: While this may not be the most intellectual novel of the year, it is just plain fun and there's a lot to be said for that. The characters are charming and funny and while they may be broad stereotypes, it's all in good fun. And that's not even mentioning a great mystery. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a little escapism and a barrel load of chuckles.
Rating: Summary: Oh Please Review: Yay! Just one more book filled with stereotypes about how gay people really are! There is nothing redeeming in this book whatsoever. I thought at least it might be fun in the similar style of Christian McLaughlin, but I was sorely disappointed. If you enjoy stuff that could have been written by any old hack, you'll enjoy this book. If you'd prefere just a tad bit of substance in your reading, I encourage you to pick up Harold and the Purple Crayon...a literary masterpiece in comparison.
