Summary: Watch out for Raven!
Review: A mystery, a romp, and a peek into a deliciously devilish psyche ...Beware the Kiss is all of this wrapped in a good, old fashioned love story, as well. A perfect read for a long weekend. It left me both satisfied with the conclusion and craving more.

Summary: "Beware" will keep you up late.
Review: Don't pick up this book late at night if you have to get up early the next morning, because you won't be able to put it down until you finish it. I read it all in one sitting!! The book is full of intrigue and suspense with a twist. I can hardly wait for the second book of the trilogy to come out! J. Alex Acker has combined suspense, intrigue, sci/fi fantasy, love story, and mystery all in one novel. Read it soon!!

Summary: When's the next one coming out?
Review: From the second I picked up Beware the Kiss, I couldn't put the book down...in fact in took me only two nights to finish it. The characters in the story are so real and their experiences added a touch of mystery and suspense to my everyday life! Throughout the entire book the story plays through your head as you envision the characters, each who are described in much detail in the book. The suspense kept me reading and the ending made me want more. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick read and a wonderful story. I can't wait for the next book in the triology to be released!

Summary: Fabulous, absolutely fabulous!!.
Review: I couldn't put it down! What a fabulous and refreshing change from the things I read today. The combination of romance, mystery, the"curse", and absolute suspense left me wanting more. I can hardly wait until the others come out. I thought it was great to read a book that is set in a familiar place being from the twin cities area; that made it seem even more real. I totally loved watching the curse unfold and trying to figure it out in advance--of course it was so well done I wasn't able to figure it out ahead of time, making it even more intriguing. This is a must read book for every mystery, suspense, or romance novel reader. You will definitely want more when you're finished. I am half way through reading it for the second time. My hat is off to an author that can take such an imagination and articulate so well as this author has done. Keep it up and keep them coming.

Review: I really enjoyed this book because it captures your attention from the first page. It is easy to read so you can read it anywhere or anytime even if you only have a few minutes. The characters are very believable, like someone you might meet and yet powerful but they are also vulnerable and ethical. You really feel their emotions.

There is intrigue, mystery and excitement and it is one book that is hard to put down. It leaves you wanting more so I cannot wait for part two of this trilogy.

Summary: It's Harry potter for Adults! Finally!!
Review: If you like Harry Potter, you'll love Beware the Kiss by J. Alex Acker. She has created a storyline filled with suspence, action/adventure, mystery, fantasy, and even , gothic romance. How's that for the 21st century? The story is about a woman who is cursed. She must destroy the creator of the curse before Hallows Eve, or she herself will be destroyed. But in the meantime, she falls in love, but to make love would kill her lover. From the very first page until the last, the pace of the book is brisk. A great book for when you're on the subway, bus, or stuck in traffic. And what's even more exciting, Beware the Kiss is the first book in the Beware Trilogy. Read it TODAY!!!!

Summary: The concept exceeds the execution
Review: in this supernatural confection. Prose too purple for the rather sketchily developed plotline (for all the bloodshed and fake-Hispanic hoodoos, Raven's motivation ends up coming across as anticlimactic, since her viewpoint is no more fleshed out than are the sudden shifts of location necessitated by her curse). And the (too many) phrases in Spanish are a scandal! Just checking a Spanish-English dictionary would at least take care of the goofy gender mixups. But the idea for this story, with the romance angle, has great potential.
