Rather than engender yet another antagonistic/oppositional framework of sexual (un)intelligibility, Bravmann carefully considers how existing historical accounts of LGB identities/fictions are shaped by narrativized techniques that reduce the complexity of the field. This study demands that we re-examine our framings of the past and how they have come to limit and overdetermine our understandings of sexual and erotic desire.
