Summary: This is a must have!
Review: Excellent book. Very useful information on every page. Other books on the same topic do not get down to the "nitty-gritty" as this book does. The author shares invaluable personal information. It's like having a friend offer advice and support. Very helpful resource list in the back. Also has a good index. Perfect for lesbians trying to become pregnant, but not knowing where or how to begin.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Very practical information & an entertaining read

Summary: A Great Book
Review: For my partner and I who are still in the thinking and planning stages of family making, this book was really helpful and gave insight to some of the things we can expect! I would highly recommend it to anyone even THINKING about starting a family.

Summary: A Must Read for Potential Lesbian Mommas!
Review: I enjoyed this book throughly. It was the last "pre-parenting" book I read before trying alternative insemination. I wish it had been the first. It has lots of information and is not too preachy. I just wish it were longer!

Summary: An excellent resource!
Review: I found this book to be especially helpful during the trying-to-conceive and early pregnancy phases. Once my pregnancy was well underway, I relied more heavily upon other resources for more complete pregnancy info. Nevertheless, this book was absolutely indispensable to me during the emotionally challenging process of selecting a donor, using intrauterine insemination, managing medical issues (infertility, health insurance, etc.), and coping with early setbacks. The numerous quotes from others who have "been there" helped to normalize my feelings and experiences, while the author's matter of fact tone demystified the process and helped me know what to expect next. The tips for staying sane while trying were all relevant and useful. I read this book over and over for comfort when my partner and I felt like the only ones who'd ever felt what we were feeling, and for information about choices others have made under similar circumstances. A truly useful, comforting, practical and essential book for any lesbians trying to conceive. Highly recommended!

Summary: It's a book to help lesbians conceive and bear children!
Review: In the spring of 1998, an article I wrote for CURVE magazine about my attempts to become pregnant elicited 100's of responses. I realized that there's a tremendous need out there for a factual, yet thoughtful book for lesbians trying to conceive. How do you pick a sperm bank? What's the best way to inseminate? How do you stay sane riding the conception roller coaster? What about the partner of the pregnant woman? Should you have a midwife? How about some pregnancy info geared specifically toward lesbians? This book is a labor of love, from a new lesbian Mom to her community. I hope it helps you achieve your dream of pregnancy... if I could do it...you can too!!!

Summary: A beautiful book!
Review: Rachel Pepper is to be commended for her information and stance against infant circumcision. While many books on pregnancy and childcare still take the wishy-washy stance that it's up to the parents to decide, Rachel's advise to protect the child's right to genital integrity is wonderful. I highly recommend this beautiful book!
