Rating: Summary: The best one yet! Review: I have read all of Mr. Harris's books, and found them all to be a great read. If you haven't read any of his books, all you'll need is one and you will begging for more. I was impressed with the way things turn out for Yancy and Basil. I wondering is this the end for Basil, or is he still in HEAT! As for Miss. Yancey now that she has found love?? will she put her personal life ahead of her career??
Rating: Summary: very good Review: i thought this was one of his best, because at first i didnt like yancy or basil but i guess every character has their good qualities, and it made me realize why they act the way that they did, good job mr harris
Rating: Summary: Not Disappointed Review: E. Lynn, you've done it again. The book was great. Where did Bart come from? He added spice to the book. I love the way you use all of the characters from your books. You're a genius. I can't wait for the story to continue. Thanks for being you and writing such wonderful stories.
Rating: Summary: 1, 2, 3 ,4 no 5 SNAPS UP!!! Review: Mr Harris has out did himself with this one. Ok I read this book in 3 days! It was a great read from the cover page to the last line of the book. I have to admit, the novel right before this one was rather boring, but Mr Harris truly made up for it with this novel.Even though there was a great deal of deception in this novel, there was also a great deal of growth amongst some of the characters. These novels by Mr Harris are true eye openers for the women that refuse to believe the man out there that are on the DOWN LOW
Rating: Summary: It's Been A Pleasure Review: As usually E. Lynn Harris's books are intriguing and wonderfully exciting. Becuase I have read his previous books, I feel that picking up "Any Way the Wind Blows" has been like catching up with an old friend. I am pleased to say that Harris's books have brought some closure to the pain and suffering of Yancy and Basil. But it has also brought up new questions of the future of our be loved main characters. For now, it seems that there will be a new book. One that I am hoping to read and love. If this is your first time reading this saga, you'll love the joys, pains and life-like situations written in this fantasy. E.Lynn Harris's books are great becuase he has taken financially comfortable afrocan americans and placed them in real life situations and have showed how they failed and triumphed.
Rating: Summary: E.Lynn Harris....does it again Review: The book again made me read the entire contents before the end of the week. When ever you read a book by E. Lynn Harris, the writer allows us the reader to place pictures with people and this helps the story a great deal. I LOVE YOU
Rating: Summary: Thumbs Down Review: Mr. Harris has obviously lost his touch. I enjoyed "Not A Day Goes By", but was outright disappointed by this sequel. Can you say "Too much name dropping!!". Someone needs to tell Mr. Harris that in order to make fiction writing more effective and realistic, it's best to chill some of the nationally known names and events. Especially when they're so recent. I would much rather read about make-believe stars and envision them as being real then read about Billboard's top 50 and how his character ranks among them. You could easily see how Mr. Harris rushed the book's ending. It was as if he got tired of writing or had somehow lost his creative touch. In this rush, he failed to give readers any outcome of several major events. One of those events being Basil's livelihood. Instead, Mr. Harris spent time having Yancey and Basil explain to each other the events that took place in the book. Events the reader was already aware of. Terrible writing style! Oh yeah, each main character in the book (except one) were cruel and enjoyed inflicting harm to others. Funny how they all got off easily and got to live happily ever after. Is that the message Mr. Harris wants to send, that it's ok to hurt people because you might get away with it? The one character that was punished, was actually the only character who did not deliberately hurt or attempt to hurt anyone. Better luck next time, Mr. Harris.
Rating: Summary: If ALL MY CHILDREN had an african-american cast...... Review: ANY WAY THE WIND BLOWS was definitely a follow-up to NOT A DAY GOES BY, and I was glad to see the New Jacks back. Basil, Yancey, Windsor, and Ava were back in full form. All were the same as we remembered them, aside from a slight change in the personalities of Basil and Yancey. This novel brought their relationship back around and made them do something that wasn't present the first time around. They allowed themselves to grow, not just as professionals, but as people who needed to let go and forgive, just so they could go on with their own lives. Even though this crowd can't touch the Original E. Lynn Crew (Raymond, Nicole, and Kyle to name a few) in character developement, they held their own as any soap opera cast would've. Great job, E.!
Rating: Summary: A Great Summer Read Review: E. Lynn Harris delivers an entertaining read again. He brings back a mix of characters from his previous best sellers focusing on John Basil Henderson and Yancy-only this time they must come face to face with their "secrets" and themselves in the midst of deceit, vengeance, and passion. Any Way The Wind Blows is a page-turner, however, the ending felt rushed with a lot of open, unresolved issues.....I assumed these will be addressed in another release. This wasn't his best work; but it was enjoyable as a summer read.
Rating: Summary: A Great Summer Read Review: If you are a fan of E. Lynn Harris...then this is a must read. Any Way the Wind Blows picks up where Not a Day Goes By ended...Basil is still at it... trying to decide which way he wants to swing. Yancey is getting ready to blow up as a recording star and then there is newcomer Bartholomew "Bart" Dunbar. Bart is out for some revenge and who he is getting help from will not surprise you. You knew she had to be there somewhere....get the book and find out who. This novel is filled with twists and turns and just the right amount of deceitfulness. I highly recommend this one. Continued success and blessings to E. Lynn Harris. Can't wait for the next one.
