Summary: Even Disneyland's Phantasy's Come to an End, Mr. Harris
Review: I'm sure that I don't speak alone when I say that it's time for Mr. Harris to take on a new and different avenue for novel writing. No matter how good one's vision or outlook is, even he/she has to come to terms with the reality of not doing the same thing over and over each time you put something out. From his first novel ... to his current, the story lines are all the same. Reflect back on "Invisible Life" ... now journey to "Any Way the Wind Blows" ... what's different? Right, only new characters living the same old "disney" script Mr. Harris is famous for ... wouldn't you say. I'm sure that if the sisters don't know much about their double life men, then they'll never know.

When you look at it ... most don't really care. They're (my dumb, yet loveable black sisters ... God, help you dumb creatures), most, I should say, basically trying to hold on to something that they can't control. Taking this journey with Mr. Harris, most will never learn.

Being a "black, gay male" myself, even I know when to take on a different approach at putting something out that's worth a read. So ... I guess it's safe to call Mr. Harris, the Bill Cosby on "How To Live a Double Life" and still maintain your interests in "women".

I was a fool and purchased the first three ... but it was a miracle to have friends who have the collection. Maybe this will be his year to start anew and come up with something closer to reality.

Summary: Good But Left Me Hanging
Review: I have read all of E. Lynn's book and this is the one I least enjoyed only because the ending left me hanging as to Basil. Is the next book to be a continuation of Basil? If so, then I understand (sort of ) why he ended the book this way. Also, The last 5 or so chapters seemed rushed with no cohesivness to them. They did not tie in well. But he did wrap of questions about all the characters except Basil.
I ANXIOUSLY await this next book due out in 2002 sometime. And isn't it time they make a movie out of his books!
Let's continue to support Mr. Harris.

Summary: I LOVE THIS BOOK
Review: I'm a e lynn harris fan and I really enjoyed this book it took me 7 1/2 hours to read the whole thing. Basil was the guy that you loved to hate he and Yancey came a long way and that was a good thing. As for Ava & Bart well let just say what goes around come around and we all get ours in the end. I was also glad to see that Raymond showed in this book and was there when Basil needed him despite there pass.

While reading this book I also got a feeling that we have not heard from or seen the last of Basil or his friend Raymond I hope that I am right, I would love to see Basil and Raymond living in New York together and friends and how this effect Raymond and Trent relationship.

All and All this was a excellent read like the rest of his book and I can't wait for his 2 new coming out in 2002.

If you haven't got it get it is well worth you time.

As for Mr. E Lynn. Harris (Do your thing boy)

Summary: E!- You brought it Back!
Review: I loved this reading!!!! E.Lynn- you flipped the script and brought Basil back to us- wide open and just dang' sexy and deliteful. This was sweet. I enjoyed page 1 to the end.

As I reflect back on Basil's role in your other novels, I like what you are doing with his part. Keep it going. I like change. I love lust and I like the edge you give your characters.I feel this is a varying mode what makes a character have "CHARACTER."

I am sure you will understand my drift. I am bad with recalling names but readers reading this- work with me. I am in the early stages of memory loss. The young man from this novel who made Basil's life conflicting, I liked his weakness but enjoyed his selfishness and deceitful style. In fact, he was a slow loser who just could not play the "_itch role well." He lacked sophistication and unfortunately Eva did not spare the time to school the young boy. Oops! I went their but I enjoyed their parts.
Oh!! and the Diva herself, Yancey's mother(EVA)- the undercover Alexis is a "B" from the heart but she is doing her thang' well.

E.Lynn- Keep using your writer's artful skill!

I see you are reaching out to a different audience with your upcoming release. Hopefully it will be a read that I could use in my high school curriculum.
I expect that E.Lynn will continue to dangle his characters with new twists so until the next word..... Keep the pages turning ...with significant sass and strong impact.

Summary: Not Mr. Harris's best work
Review: I love the depth of E.Lynn Harris's books, however I did not find it in this book. Any Way The Wind Blows was in my opinion a weak novel. It does not show Mr. Harris's true abilities. His main character Basil seem to lose his lovable characteristics as the book went alone and Yancey was so superficial you wanted to laugh. Ava was indeed annoying and unbelievable. Bart on the other had should have been excluded from the whole book entirely. If you read his novel before this one "Not A Day Goes By," you will enjoy the updates on Basil and Yancey and that will make this book enjoyable and entertaining. Since I do love E.Lynn Harris I will look forward for his next published novel.

Summary: Not what I expected
Review: I am grateful that I did NOT buy this book, but checked it our from the library. It was an OK read, but I expected much more substance. The characters were developed but it seemed that the discoveries were rushed through. I wanted to learn more about Basil's history with his family, especially the lack of a relationship with his mother. I weakly recommend others to read this novel, maybe there is something to learn.

Summary: One of the VERY BEST!!!
Review: E.Lynn Harris, your stuff is truely wonderful. I have read all your books and I can't say which is my favorite, I love them all and CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT! However, Anyway the Wind Blows was of course, a classic. That Basil forever turns me on, and looks to be he is actually getting some structure in his life. The new baby should give him new perspective. Yancey appears to be finally getting over herself! However, she's been so horrible in the past, I think she deserves to meet her match just one more time. May in the next book Nicole should get her revenge, but maybe she's just too sweet. Anyway, this book was 'the bomb', Mr. Harris. I bought it for my best girlfriend for her birthday. She loved it as well and is trying to catch up on all the other ones, eagarly awaiting your next masterpiece. So hurry up Mr. Harris. I'm having withdrawals. I miss Raymond. Sure hope he'll be back next.
