Rating: Summary: Stay away from "Anyway The Wind Blows" Review: These characters were too shallow for me. From Basil, to Yancy to Ava, there's no one to root for in this book. This was nothing more than a cheesey soap opera. I believe in fantasy and escapism, as long as there is some trace of reality. I've been with E. Lynn since the beginning. His books have been on a steady decline. Where's the passion, sensitivity and character development that was paramount in his other works? He didn't give us one reason to care about any of these people. It was a quick, juicy read, but not much substance.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down! Review: I was a little late getting around to reading this one...the new release is out in mere hours. This was definately one of Harris' trademark pageturners. While it's not the classic "Invisible Life" became, I doubt we'll ever see that again. The shock is over! Definately worth the bookstore trip!
Rating: Summary: AS USUAL E. LYNN HARRIS OUT DOES HIMSELF!!!!!!! Review: Once again E Lynn Harris out does himself. His characters keep u saying alright now whens the next one coming out? Do I have to wait that long?? It is truly worth it. Always has my mouth watering for more.
Rating: Summary: The Wind Still Blows! Review: Harris continues to allow us a peep into each and every one of his character's lives.I thought that this book was enjoyable and I devoured every word of his book. Of course one has to accept the alternative living style of this book, so if you are the judgemental type, stick with the square novels. Harris has a true gift, his novels are one of the rare ones that allow us as readers to create a visual play of everything that is going on in our minds(IMAGINATION AT IT'S BEST).This is a must read!!!
Rating: Summary: Any way the wind Blows Review: I love all Mr. Harris books and if you are reading this please let Basil go straight I love this character, I would like to know about Basil's daughter that was borne last year and the child's mother, will Raymond and Trent quit or remain lovers. What about Raymond's brother and his family and Trent's son,Ms Nicole and Gerald I can't wait for the new book
Rating: Summary: YAWN, YAWN! Review: WELL, I didn't really care for this book. I don't concider myself to be a shrew about everything, because I pretty much like the stuff I buy, but I really didn't do too well this time with this one. I think I got through the first five pages; that was pretty good for me. The last page that I stopped on, said something about a guy dropping his napkin on the floor, and bent down poking his behind up in another guy's face that he liked, while knowing that the guy wasn't interested. All I know, was that the guy was going to kick his you know what. If you like to read stories like these, then this is the book for you.
Rating: Summary: Not My Favorite Review: I'm a big fan of E. Lynn Harris, and have read all of his books. I use to think "And This Too Shall Pass" was the weakest book in his collection until I read "Any Way the Wind Blows" The book started off promising. I have always enjoyed the "John Basil Henderson" character, and I've seen him evolve through the stories. But the lastest book left me hanging. Is Raymond going to leave Trent? Will Basil finally admit he's bisexual? I hope that the new book continues where this left off, if not I hope he plans to continue this story in the future. Even though it's not my favorite I still recommend it. After all E. Lynn Harris is on of the best African-American fiction authors.
Rating: Summary: He did it again. Review: E. Lynn Harris was able to make another page turner. How does he do that? If you enjoy his writing then he has not let you down in this book. It is a page turner and he keeps the drama going. A definite must have for any library.
Rating: Summary: Pure Pop and as Satisifying... Review: This is pure pop - I expected Britney Spears and the Backdoor Boys to show up in the story at any time. The book is a mindless read with silly characters that no one could care about. What's up with "diva"??? E. Lynn seems fixated on the word diva; every woman in the book calls herself a diva - that became grating. Pass on this. Read something with more realistic characters, with a believable plot, with a good author.
Rating: Summary: Oh My, So Much Drama... Review: Well E.Lynn Harris has done it once again, this is a page turner, show stopper. J.Basil Henderson is feeling the wrath of the Jack Frost wind, oooooh it is so cold. Bart Dunbar is not to be mistaken for a one night thrill, but proves to be a fool when he teams up with has been, never again, I wish I was "Diva" Ava Middlebrook for the plight of revenge. Ava is still a vicious, envious, scandalous, "Mother" and I can't wait to see her get whats coming to her (E.Lynn has to flip the script on this heffa). Now Yancey B. is rising and coming out and you almost want to see her and Basil work things out, but things look promising for her and Desmond, because with Desmond she is not a Diva, or just a fine piece of ---, she is a woman who he wants to deal with on the whole. This story has been written with great skill and I suggest you read it, I guarantee you that you will not put it down. Perfectly titled to: Any Way the Wind Blows. Applause to E.Lynn, this is a the second part of a Masterpiece.
