Rating: Summary: The Straight Truth for a Change! Review: It speaks the truth in love, is well documented and what you never hear from this country's lefty media machine. I couldn't put it down. I hope these guys sell a trillion copies and, perhaps, help check our slide into the abyss of depravity.
Rating: Summary: The sad truth is revealed Review: For those of you who like politically correct, "feel good" books, this one is not for you. Alan Sears and Greg Osten do an outstanding job of revealing the homosexual population as a group of people who filled with naive lies (like how people are supposedly "born" as a homosexual) and sheer intolerance. Any people, especially Christians, who dare to stand up to the homosexual agenda is ridiculed - who is the "intolerant one" now?!! You've got to hand it to the homosexuals, though - they are smart bunch. From the time children enters preschool, they are taught to become propaganda machines, eating up this sexual perversion as if it were candy.Just because Bible-believing Christians have higher standards does not mean that they should capitulate their views in the face of constant harassment. One theme that is repeated over and over again in the Bible is purity - especially sexual purity. I have bought dozens of copies of this book to hand out to friends and family alike... because no matter how hard the homosexuals and their allies cover their ears and pretend like nothing is happening, the truth will prevail in the end. The death of America is upon us... literally. As birthrates continue to fall and as homosexuals continue to satisfy their base lusts, America will soon be just a shell of its former, magnificent self...
Rating: Summary: I used to think this was crap ... Review: I used to think this was crap until I saw a story from the Sunday 8-31-03 NY Times (that bastion of conservative thought) about homosexual marriage in Canada. The story quotes actual homosexuals saying that they want no part of marriage until they can redefine it and remove silly concepts like "monogamy." THAT is what people like the authors think will destroy marriage. While this book may have its flaws, it looks like it may be closer to reality than I initially thought.
Rating: Summary: If I could give negative stars I would Review: This book started off as laughable until I realized it was written with real terrifying closed-minded intent and purpose. And given that the average rating is 3 1/2 stars.. ... Personally, I want to read the book that identifies the conservative christian right agenda as the biggest threat to the freedom and safety of [people with an alternative lifestyle]. The sooner we can all live peacably and not be so concerned about what one group of people are doing in the bedroom and look at how well they raise their children and treat each other, and how many of them go to church and pray to the same god as the activist that wrote this book, then I think we'll have a world worth living in. As long as we live in a world where so-called Christians to whom God commanded, "love one another", will picket a young ... man's funeral in Wyoming and shouting derogatory ...slurs at his family, those of us not in this religious right need to band together... We've got our work cut out for us.
Rating: Summary: Silly, Shrill, and a little bit Funny Review: If I didn't know that some folks would actually believe this silliness, I could laugh more at this book. How sad that serious, REAL Christianity is continually given a black eye by people like this. There is virtually nothing here based on fact, and virtually nothing based on the Bible. This book represents the worst kind of misreading of Scripture and current events. Only a moron would take this stuff seriously. The only positive thing that can be said for it is that I did laugh out loud a few times.
Rating: Summary: Factual Inaccuracies Review: I was disappointed that the authors of the book did not take a more balanced viewpoint. For instance, no mention is given of the fact that a homosexual co-founded the modern conservative movement along with William Buckley, or converted the civil rights movement to non-violence--Bayard Rustin, and organized the famous March on Washington where Martin Luther King gave his famous "I have a Dream" speech. The authors seemed to come to the topic with their conclusion in hand and sensationalized some fairly boring situations to make their point. There are better books on this topic.
Rating: Summary: bigots Review: I whole heartedly disagree with what this book has to say. There is no "gay agenda" except to earn equal rights for everyone, regardless of their race, gender, class, origins, or sexual orientation. If you read the history of the civil rights movement you will see many similar accusations against that movement, as well as womens sufferage. This book is full of religious hatred, and disinformation. This author does not even attempt to see the other side of this argument. All they seem to do is point fingers, and slander our friends, kids, uncles, aunts, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, and other loved ones who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgendered. Read this book only if you would burn a cross on a black mans front lawn. Thats the kind of hatred that is being spread here.
Rating: Summary: You have got to be kidding me Review: This is one of the funniest books I have ever read. Initially I thought that there might actually be something interesting hidden in the text. Sadly, all I could find was a lot of rhetoric about how homosexuals are trying to take over the world and repress the poor members of the religious right. In particular, the discussion of the highly financed gay lobby and its effect in the political spectrum was insulting. There is no bigger funded lobby than the religious right, especially now during the Bush administration. I remain curious about the "threat" posed by the homosexual agenda to marriage and religious freedom in this country. I was unaware that attempting to gain rights that are freely given to every other American citizen, could be construed as trying to deny them to others. Virtually every gay person I know is supportive of religious freedom. Though they do tend to think that everyone should have their own right to choose which religion they are going to follow. It shocks me that a group with the power and money of the religious right is threatened by any of this. It shocks me even more that they couldn't find some relevant research to prove any of their points.
Rating: Summary: I can't believe this hateful book claims to be Christian! Review: Christianity is about accepting Christ as your savior and about accepting and loving others. The only "homosexual agenda" is the desire to be treated as equals. The right to keep your job, the right to choose your domestic partner, and the right to be safe from violence are not special privileges. These are human rights that heterosexual people take for granted in their own lives.
Rating: Summary: Terrible...typical christian conversative muck Review: Hate and discrimination are family values in ultra-Christian households...
