Summary: I finished this book two days ago and I'm still laughing.
Review: This was the first piece of lesbian literature I've read and I don't think I could have started with a better book. I bought it hoping it would help me become more comfortable with my sexuality, now I'm READY to find my own Celeste. It's really amazing what a good book can do, with Brown's dialogue and characters, you can't help but be pulled into the story.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A book for every woman.
Review: Upon finishing this book I immediately went back to the beginning and started it again. I love this book, and thank the person who lent it to me. I am ordering copies for myself, my daughter, my best friend and my sister. The scene at the July 4th parade is, I think, my favorite. Brown's prose is so vivid that you share the pandemonium, the hilarity, and outrageousness of the melee with the characters. Tugboats and Lady Liberty!!!

Summary: literature for people
Review: What a feast of laughter... a celebration of sisterhood both biological and not... Brown does a wonderful job of treating the reader to a rich exploration of relationships. The siblings in the book celebrate the old double standard of "I can make fun of my sister but don't you do it!", the lesbian couple depict a strong and sturdy love that spans over 40 years... the best friends of both generations give the reader something to espire to reach with her own female friends. I was captivated by the tragic moments as well... they sneak up on you and are so unexpectedly powerful... Six of One floats through the years with many treasured memories and delightful tales... all the while swirling with an undercurrent of something deeper.
