I couldn't wait to get the sequels to this book. The book kept me engrossed and gave me another view into the gay lifestyle. It doesn't portray the lifestyle in a negative or stereotypical view, but in a way where you could interchange the characters as heterosexuals. It is a love story that transgresses all sexual and gender boundaries. I loved Mr. Harris' books so much that we have a small book club here at my place of employment. Each person buys a book and then we share it. Once we have all finished it, we discuss it in an "Oprah bookclub" fashion. Keep up the good work!

This book was a little shocking in the beginning. I really didn't know what the book was about before I started reading it. At times I had to put the book down, it was to hot for me, but I walked away with a whole new understanding of the Black Gay Man's mind and feeling. I can't wait to read Just as I am.

This time I read it for a diffrent reason. It is a good book and will make a wonderful independent movie. I will be finished writing the screenplay adaptation Xmas week of 2001. The author does not know that I have written the screenplay. I am going to try with great vigor to see if I can get the part of Kyle in the movie, if the movie gets made. This part was meant for me to do.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Raymond is Wonderful Review: I just recently read this book, and in a matter of 3 days. Raymond is an all around sweet guy and I love that his homosexuality does not take over his life. As he always states in this book and "Just as I am", being gay was only a small part of who he is. I've finally read all the books in the series(all out of order, but I have not missed a beat, E. Lynn is that good), and I miss Raymond. I'm ready for him to come back into my life. Hurry up with the NEXT ONE, Mr. Harris.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A glimpse of an invisible world Review: Thanks to Harris for enlightening the world about a life that I knew nothing about - and delivering the message with a work of superb writing. The characters were strong, the dialogue was audible, and the plot was utterly engrossing. In addition, my eyes were opened to be more accepting of people who are different from me - or as Harris so eloquently displayed - not much different from me at all. I applaud Harris's first novel with my full support, and belief that the best is yet to come from this talented author.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Invisible Life Review: Invisible Life is a book that I would recommend to anyone. E. Lynn Harris tells the story of Ray Tyler's life in a captivating and explicit manner that caught my attention. Raymond Tyler Jr. has a perfect life, he has a girlfriend, Sela, his highschool sweetheart, he is a brother in a fraternity, and he has an extremely loving family. Ray's life was turned upside down one night at a frat party when he saw Kelvin. Ray learned much about his sexuality through Kelvin and he learned about the true meaning of an invisible life. This book tells a story of an average african-american man who discovers and learns to accept himself. He finds that not everyone is willing to accept who he is, including his father. The only person who does accept and understand him is Kyle, his best friend. Ray finds that even the people he has put the most trust into are leading invisible lives as well.
