Summary: Bravo, Bravo, Bravo!!!
Review: Mr. Harris, you are truly a talented writer. I'd first read (I cheated) 'If this world were mine'. But now that I read Invisible Life, I feel like I really cheated myself. This book was soo good! I commend you Mr. Harris. I cannot wait to collect the rest of the books!

Summary: One of the best books I have ever read!
Review: I read this book in one night which means it had to be good. I had never realized what struggles gay black men had to endure. But the book also raised my consciousness about how many black men are gay and not obviously so. The sequel JUST AS I AM was good but a little more predictable. But I've got all my friends reading this book and we all agree that it is the best. GO READ IT!!!!!!!

Summary: Disappointing !!!
Review: As someone deeply interested in the writings of people of all colors, lifestyles and interests, I looked forward to getting insight into a bi-sexual African American man's life in modern America. This book was so disappointing !! Although the storyline was facinating and had great potential, the writing style was atrocious - amateurish (like that of an 8th grade expressive writing class) superficial, and full of silly cliches "The party lasted until the wee hours of the morning,..." "When I looked up at him, my mouth dropped open." "We tossed and rolled with each other until our bodies seemed to be intertwined." etc. etc. ....give me a break !! And the author didn't really address how Raymond FELT in a meaningful way ! Harris mentions the internal conflicts, but doesn't say much else. I don't know if I'll read the sequel. Did anyone else feel this way ?!?

Summary: Great book I couldn't put it down.
Review: Mr. Harris where are you? "Inv. Life" is an excellent eye opener for those who still are in the dark thinking that people CHOOSE to be out of the sexual norm.(If there is such a thing). The dialogue between Raymond and his father has been played over many times in families. Understanding is the key and the aurthor clearly shows it in a funny and heart-warming way in this superb book. Two thumbs and a "Z" snap.:)

Summary: Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I have had the pleasure of reading all of E. Lynn's novels. They were the most touching novels I have ever read. I love him, I wish him continued success and am eargerly awaiting the third installment in the Invisible Life tirlogy.

Summary: I believe this book is the best book I have ever read.
Review: This book was better than a soap opera. It made me laugh, cry and feel all warm on the inside. I believe alot of people could identify with the character Raymond because in each of us lives a part of Raymond. His character, as well as others, seemed so real and that's what kept me coming back to reading this book. I never thought that reading this book would make me reexamine the way in which I viewed my life and others around me. Now, I cannot wait to read JUST AS I AM. E. Lynn Harris, I think you wrote a wonderful story full of emotion and hope fora better and brighter future for all. I recommend this book to anyone who can read. This book was THE BOMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!!
Review: E.Lynn Harris took me through a lifestyle that I had no idea existed.. "Invisiable Life" was one of the best books I have ever read..

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This is the start of something truly great!
Review: Mr. Harris has taken homosexual characters and brought them into our lives so much that we forget they are gay. This book and the others that follow teaches us not only the imporatance of truth in relationships, but allows us to see how they develop. A truly great fiction writer not only captures you, but draws you into the story, somehow paralleling your own life. Mr. Harris does this, straight or gay. All of those that critize this writer should read his books. You will find yourself laughing, crying, and oftentimes talking to the characters, sometimes outloud forgetting it is just a book!

Summary: This isn't writing. It's typing.
Review: Why is the white mainstream so comfortable with black men as sissies and eunuchs? Jake Lamar's "The Last Integrationist" is a much better book, with a lot more to say. Why make a cult of non-schedule sexual pathologies? What people do with each other in the dark is so reverberatingly PRIVATE

Summary: They all were beautiful. The most recent one was beautiful.
Review: I read Invisible Life, it was a great book. I read it in two days. Just As I Am, And This too Shall Pass were all dynamite books. I like the way E. Lynn bought back John Basil in his last book If This World Was Mine. It was simply beautiful. I feel as though I've actually met all of the characters from all of the books. Why not make this into a movie, or a mini series. You would pack the house. When are you coming to Jacksonville as part of your tour? I think you would get a warm reception if you were to come here. E. Lynn you can't stop here you must go on and write the sequal to "If This World was Mine".

Keep up the good work E Lynn, and hurry with that new book.

I my rating is a 10.
