Summary: A touching story of courage, love, drama, friendship, and more.
Review: This book is good for anyone that wants to know how people live with their choices, accept the responsibility of the choices they have made and the feelings, family and friends that go with it all. I was truly amazed at the quality of skill in the writing as it gave me the feeling feel that I could be related to any one of the characters in this book. In all I was truly touched.

Summary: Meanful and exciting.
Review: I feel all Mr. Harris books has brought alot out of me to realize what life mean to me. For years I have been living a life that was not happy for me, and I owe it all to Mr. Harris for being the lamp to my feet in his writing by showing me that it is ok to be a certain way. In addition Mr. E. Harris book has inspired me to start my own book club to reading his books. I just would like to say all praise in writing goes out to him, and to say keep them coming. And I hope to me you some day, for you are the writer of the New Millennim.

Summary: you wont want to put it down
Review: NOW I KNOW WHAT CRITICS MEAN WHEN THEY SAY A BOOK IS A "MUST READ" OR "YOU WON'T WANT TO PUT IT DOWN". I kept telling myself at the end of each chapter that 'that was it" but i lied to myself til 12 a.m. One thing i didnt like about the book was how Harris made it seem like homosexuality was accepted by God; the Bible!!!!!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: As good as all Harris' other books
Review: I have read all five of Harris' books and they are great. He gives a wonderful view of the gay lifestyle outside from the club scene that many portray. I cant wait to read his 6th book next year. Keep on keepin on Mr. Harris.

Summary: A bad effort
Review: I can describe this story in a couple of words: silly, shallow, annoying, and entertaining-- for what it's worth. What was clear is how ignorant E.Lynn Harris is as a writer, a man, and a Black man. One thing so blatantly noticeable is how near-White all the characters are! From green and gray eyes, to "peachy" skin, to long straight locks, Harris gives the impression that the majority of Black people don't have brown skin, brown eyes, and kinky hair! Another travesty is how all the (Black) FEMALE characters bawl and wail and cry with the drop of a hat. Harris also feels that it's fine that his main character is the "other man" in hetero relationships (even though he never wants to lie to another woman about his sexuality), and that he's obviously hostile and envious of White men. The author feels there's no need to resolve those feelings. Funny, everything else in this story is resolved-- all into one big syrupy-sweet ending that gave me a toothache. Add this to amateurish prose and boring dialogue, and it is a very good read-- for junior high school students.

Summary: Wonderful to read, could not put it down!
Review: I have read all of E. Lynn Harris' novels. I have enjoyed all of the books, especially the ones that focus on Raymond. I feel sorry for Basil, and I was glad to see more insight into why he behaves as selfishly as he does. I am anxiously waiting to find out what happens with both Raymond & Basil in Harris' next novel, Abide with Me. I ravish Mr. Harris' books in one weekend! I can't put them down. I also enjoy Yolanda Joe and several other contemporary Black authors, but Harris wins hands down!

Summary: REAL !RAW! EXCEPTIONALLY WRITTEN! BRAVO HARRIS!!!
Review: When I picked up the book, I couldn't put in down. It bought to life the struggles gay/bisexual/straight human being have to endure on a daily basis. It not only makes you ponder your views on the homosexual lifestyle but it creates direction for you future thoughts. I think this book yells... SEEK FIRST TO UNDERSTAND ...THEN TO BE UNDERSTOOD!!! KUDOS TO E L HARRIS!

Summary: Eye opening glance for heterosexuals into gay lifestyle.
Review: As a strait black man i was sort of distant about reading a novel on gay black men, however this book was eye opening and made me take a second look at homosexuals and their struggles. It also made me realize that they are just like everyone. A must have in anyone's library, black, white, gay, bisexual, straight.

Summary: BREATHTAKING
Review: This was one of those books that I couldn't put down. I was so into it I found myself reading it in traffic at red lights. E Lynn Harris is an exceptional author and will go very far if he keeps going at this rate. I have read all of his books and will read any new ones he may write.

Summary: This book is SO True!!!!
Review: When I started reading this book, I was unable to put it down. Harris has captured the feelings of a young man struggling with his inner-self. It seems as though Harris will be one of the best author's ever!!!!
