Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Good for those who need answers Review: I tend to like to answer questions myself, but I ordered this book as I was doing a classroom presentation on counseling gay/lesbian. It was a big hit with my fellow students and has some good answers. All in all a good book!
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Disappointed Review: I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of this book, but was, sadly, disappointed when I read it.Disappointed, not because I disagree with the information, but because the author makes a fundamental mistake: He never cites any studies to support his answers, despite the fact that there are numerous studies that support most of his answers. So if you are trying to convince someone who is skeptical of the gay movement, then this is NOT a good book since it never cites any evidence to back up its claims.

There is more hatred in this type of town than in all of the big city I grew up in. Being comfortable with my lesbianism, I thought this town would be fine... but quickly learned people can ask pointed questions that I can't come up with the answers for that fast. This book answers them all. I reread parts of it regularly, because I keep finding myself using its logic and frankness all the time. It isn't biased one way or another, and doesn't seem to put anyone on the defensive. When I came out to my own parents, I gave them a copy of it, and they really appreciated it. My mother said she thought it had been written just for her. I heartily recommend it to anyone who has questions about their own sexuality or that of a friend or relative, or wants to be able to answer the questions others ask.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A subversive book Review: In a way this is a very nasty little book. Here you have a whole bunch of questions, some stupid, some timely, some with a certain depth actually. 300 hundred questions answered straight to the point (so to speak). And cheap. Cheap enough actually that you can afford to buy the book and send it to your nosy neighbour, your intolerant boss, your college opposite sex sweetheart that you dumped for the same sex prom king, even your parents that do not want to talk to you anymore. Perhaps these people will not read it. Perhaps they will not become more understanding or accepting after reading it. But one thing is certain, they should stop badgering you with questions, and the ever "why, oh, why?". Either they will become speechless, or will not dare to ask since they will know the answer "read it!". Ah! Another thing, it is fun to read, useful to remind you of some ready made answers to questions that with time you stopped worrying about. Perhaps for other people it might be seen as a nasty book, but for you it will be a great thing to have, in case of emergency.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Good for those who need answers Review: It is very sad to read a book which still defines bisexuality as a form of internalized homophobia. "When I became more confortable with being gay, I gave up my bisexual identification". I wish the author would became more unconfortable with his confort.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Faith will Not make it go away Review: Open, frank sharing of the reality and definitions, truths and falsehoods, about real individuals in a culture created by the fears of the majority. Dated, in that the subject wasn't then on the horizon, but this should be required reading for anyone who wants to make a rational decision about their belief that a Constitutional Ammendment should be passed in the attempt to prevent Gay Marriage.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Required reading for ALL people Review: This is a wonderful book written on an older teen to adult level; it's not just for lesbigays but should be required reading for all straight people, too, because we live in an extremely homophobic society. This book cuts through the bigotry, myths and lies, and answers 300 questions about being lesbigay honestly and simply. To those who are already familiar with lesbigays, some of the questions might seen terribly basic, but for those who are new to homosexual concerns, this book gives you answers to questions you might have been too prejudiced, afraid or too shy to ask. If you find that your child, student or friend is lesbigay, this is the first book you should turn to for those basic questions you might have. It will help you get over that first speed bump and you will have a much clearer idea about what homosexuality really is--a normal expression of a human being's sexuality. If you think that gays are the castoffs of society, boy, do you have a lot to learn, and it is never too late to do so. This book also has a terrific list of resources at the end, about where to look for further information and help. Another good book on the same subject is Eric Marcus's book called "What If Someone I Know is Gay?" This book is similar to "Is It a Choice?", but is scaled to a 6-10th grade reading level. Older teens would probably prefer "Is It a Choice?" But for younger kids with questions "What If Someone I Know is Gay?" is fantastic. I urge those of you--teachers, parents, grandparents, relatives, friends, teachers, ministers and counselors--who wish to learn the TRUTH about lesbigays--to buy this book as a basic part of your library. I am a volunteer church librarian and I will donate these two books to our church library as well as several others. It is never too late to learn to leave your prejudices behind. This book is a special life-saver for students who are discovering their sexual identities. READ THIS BOOK!
