Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Great book with many fine points Review: This is a great book for someone who's just starting on the daring search for a husband. It's laid out in good clean format and written in a concise forward manner. Even with that said the author remembers that any book like this needs to keep it's perspective - and it's sense of humor. And the sense of humor is what keeps this book moving along. The advice is all pretty much common sense but the author puts it in a form that's easy to digest (as opposed to advice from your friends which is...). There are some very cute and funny bits about how to put up with your future husband's little habits. There's even a section on handling his love of Barbra, or whatever diva he chooses to worship. While this is a great book, the reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because it's almost like reading the Clif's Notes version of a heavier book. It leaves you wanting something more in depth.

Review: This is often a funny and perceptive book, but it also appears to want to be taken seriously at least a little. So it's disappointing to see mixed in with the good advice (Don't be afraid to introduce yourself to people; Don't cruise at the gym, but do go) an awful lot of shallow commentary on living as a gay man in the '90s (Don't date anyone better looking than you; Forgive at least one ugly outfit; Try to meet men in non-gay settings, like shopping malls). About the kind of advice you'd expect from a publicist.
