Rating: Summary: Buy this book immediately if you like to laugh! Review: As I write this review of AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF A ONE-YEAR-OLD by Rohan Candappa, I am looking at the five new copies that I've just bought to give out to good friends. This is a special book. It is wise and funny, and when you read it, you will catch yourself laughing out loud, very often. Whether you are a parent or not, we were all born. We do not remember much about our very early years, the formative years, which molded us and set us on the course of our adult lives. This book takes a look at the socializing of a child entering its second year of life, who, by the way, just happens to have the insights of a very savvy adult. Rohan is a father himself and author of several comedy books, who has given us a fresh humorous look at the serendipitous awareness and endless contraditions of training the newborn human young as they enter into, and become one of the "normal" fold of our complex society. It's too bad that we all didn't have this book available years ago to pass along to each other in the sandbox! If you love to laugh and enjoy life, then this is a wonderful read.
Rating: Summary: Not bad, but you should probably be a parent Review: Fairly funny at times, it's not a bad book. But it does drag on a bit after a while, even though the 279 pages are a quick read due to very short chapters, few numbering over 3 pages at most (some are just one sentence). I'd say to get the most out of it, you should be a parent. We have a 1 1/2 year old, so some things hit the nail on the head. But other things don't quite get there. I don't regret spending the time to read it, but I wouldn't forcefully recommend it to anyone.

Rating: Summary: Wow!! but primarily for adults who love children. Review: Rohan, Take a bow. This is your best effort yet.If you wonder what goes on in the minds of infants, and yes they do have a mind that we all would love to understand then this is possibly the only book that tells you all even while you enjoy reading it. In an absolutely simple prose the author reveals the thoughts of children during their first few months in our complex world. The introduction to the fathers where the child on seeing his father wonders who is this hairy person is spot on and illustrative of the effort the author has put in to read the mind of a child. This is not a parental guide but even better. Now I understand the antics of my toddler and have a better perspective of her actions. This laugh out a sentence book is so good that Ive stopped reading the last few chapters as I dont want to finsh the book ever.
