Summary: An engaging tribute to guitars
Review: Collaboratively compiled and jointly edited by music historians and experts Margret Aldrich and Michael Dregni, This Old Guitar: Making Music And Memories From Country To Jazz, Blues To Rock collects together informatively diverse stories drawn from respected music journalists and historians, which are superbly enhanced with a profusion of black-and-white and color photographs celebrating how the guitar influenced American music and popular culture. Sidebar quotes from famous musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, B. B. King, Pete Townshend and others add a particularly lively touch. An engaging tribute to guitars and the music they have played throughout the century, This Old Guitar is a welcome addition to academic and community library Music History collections, as well as a superb gift book for guitar music enthusiasts of any age or musical background!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great Guitar lore
Review: This eclectic collection of stories, photos and memorabilia makes for an enjoyable book. Eric Dregni's description of learning how to burn a guitar made me laugh, and I love all the old photos of regular folks and their "axes!"
