Summary: One of the best books I've ever read!
Review: At first I thought this book would be boring, but as soon as I started, I couldn't stop reading it.I've experienced emotions that were totally alien to me. The story has been written in such a manner that you immerse yourself completely into the role of the main characters: experience their pain and happiness. I could even feel the heat emanating from the dusty streets! I have read extensively and have still not managed to find a book that could surpass the excellence of Destiny. The ending is so unexpected and heart-stirring. When I had finished with this book,I swore to myself never ever to read this book again, until I felt more confident that I deal with the emotional experiences generated from reading it. THE INTENSITY OF THE EMOTIONAL EXPERIENCES ONE GETS FROM THIS BOOK IS INCREDIBLE - YOU MUST READ IT.

Summary: Wonderful, Sweeping Love Story
Review: Edouard and Helene are an unforgettable couple.Edouard de Chavigny comes from a dynastic family of French jewelers. Helene Craig comes from the wrong side of the tracks in rural Alabama. They see each other on the streets of Paris and they have that prescient recognition, "love at first sight"-- and their story begins. Edouard and Helene, seemingly worlds apart, come together with a sense of inevitability. This book is not a romance, though a love story is one of the novel's central features. The plot takes place in Europe and America with events transpiring from 1959 to 1975. The plot lags when Edouard and Helene are separated and there is a certain "ick" factor to the plot-- which is there for I don't know what reason. But the love story is like no other. Ms. Beauman is often compared to Sidney Sheldon, with her glittering world of jetsetting characters, rightly so. But Destiny has a better love story than ones you find in Sheldon's novels.

Review: I never read a romance book in my life till I was ill last year and wanted some light reading. What a surprise!Some of these authors are fantastic,and Sally Beauman is the best. Destiny will live in my mind forever.Like Helene,I fell madly in love with Eduard.Who would not?

Summary: VERY GOOD INDEED
Review: I read this book while in last year and eventhough I'm not a bibliophile--I liked this book. It had an interesting plot and good characterization. I didn't finish it because the ending was kind of whack.

Summary: Passionate read!
Review: The story of Eduard and Helene was so emotionally charged and passionate! I accidentally managed to miss a crucial passage in the book telling Helene's real backround which made the revelation Eduard has at the end all the more heart wrenching. Very emotional book, keeps you there and is so hard to put down. You really live in the hearts of the characters and really feel their emotions. A grand passionate love story with riches, intrigue, lots of steamy moments, and filled with real life feelings. An absolute MUST read book!
