Rating: Summary: Vital Subject Review: The subject of feminine photos and beauty, which this book discusses is likely one of the most misunderstood subjects of humanity, and very much deserves and honest and original research, and which this author endeavors to do. Yet don't forget to be prayerful, cautious, discrete, and to think for yourself, as you read this book. Some parts of this book likely will seem too liberal to many Christians, although it is a little difficult to know if the author meant it as liberal as he sometimes sounds. Yet his final conclusions often are quite clarifying and good. Remember, the Bible itself, within the Song of Solomon, contains literature that might be classified as "verbal pornography", and speaks of a feminine display which quite possibly included a nude or almost nude dance.
One might sincerely ask, "should the unfortunate husband whose wife has had her breasts removed, be deprived even of photos of the special beauty his wife could have previously provided, as such photos very much could inspire him to love his now less attractive wife, even more rather than less, and nicely suffice him as he contributes that special beauty to his own wife?" One might also ask, "should the Christian husband, as his wife gets elderly and naturally less beautiful, never again be allowed to see the thrilling physical beauty his wife could have provided when young, although seeing that beauty even if only on photos very much can inspire the older husband to more passionately and ecstatically love his now naturally less beautiful wife?" Should it be thought moral for a husband to try to remember and visualize his wife's past physical beauty, and then be thought evil and immoral to look upon photos of that beauty which he is trying to remember? Should pleasing food for the husband's mouth and stomach, be thought important and honorable, but pleasing feminine food for his eyes be thought inherently evil?
This book should help one answer such questions. As a conscientious person I want to be very careful about this subject, and by this post I am not necessarily saying I agree with every thing in this book. Yet may we not miss the rich blessings of feminine beauty, which God wondrously designed and created, and very much intends for man to enjoy. Yet may we also very much beware of sexual excesses and evils. God bless.
A Learning and Concerned Reader
Rating: Summary: It Isn't a Sin for Christians to Enjoy Erotica/Nudity in Fil Review: This interesting little paperback fairly and equitably addresses the viewing of erotica and nudity in film media by both christian and non-christian alike. It makes poignant statements with correct interpretive references to why the Bible does NOT claim viewing erotica and nudity are sins for mature adults. The book respects all religions, and clearly gives arguments which are easy to follow and worth reading about why it really IS OK for mature, married adults to view erotica and nudity in film media. Interesting reading for any student of theology, philosophy, or sexology.
