Summary: An important and conscientious work.
Review: Dr. Collins has filled a large void gathering a strong field to cover this heretofore obscure field. She has managed to bring her subject matter into sharp focus for those of us who lack her music background without reducing content to the simplistic - and therefore trivial - level which would render it irrelevent. We are looking forward to more work by this promising scholar.
