Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Excellent resource for the computer musician
Review: Covers all of the bases when it comes to audio effects and processors. Has detailed information on many effects such as reverb and delay. Describes differences between compressors and limiters. A one stop shop when it comes to choosing the right effect or processor. It has a skimpy MIDI effects section, but I assume that is due to his upcoming book on MIDI. The section on computer plug-ins is useless filler.

Summary: Awesome reference
Review: This book rules. I bought this book ( and the Part II ) and read them the same day cover to cover. It has very good illustrations and lots of them. It also contains a lot of creative and unconventional ideas for using effects and processors. Very good read, with easy language at first but then an in depth explaination. Pure sweetness...

Summary: A+, Easy to Understand and a GREAT Guide!
Review: This is a great book on Effects and Signal Processors, and covers parameters, suggests applications, and provides examples. It has great illustrations, and I am happy that there is a book out there that goes is clear, yet goes beyond "Beginner Level". Moreover, Paul shares what he learned from years of experience, and that helps for those who are beginning their journey into multitrack recording, and audio engineering.
