Summary: Not one of her best
Review: Although I have always admired Danielle's writing ability, I found this to be one of my least favorites. The story was good and admittedly tugs at your heartstrings from time to time, but it's a long time in getting you there. By the end of the book, I was so frustrated with the endless discriptions of the disfunctional characters that I was actually happy to see this one come to an end.

Review: Another romantic novel by Danielle Steele... this time the setting is Europe. Isabelle Forrester is stuck in a miserable marriage with a wealthy and obnoxious French man who treats her really bad. Bill Robinson is stuck in a life-less marriage to a wife who does not care about him. The two come together and over time fall madly in love. One night in England, together in a limousine, they give each other a breath-taking and long-lasting kiss. The kiss turns out to be a life-changing event for both of them...
A moving story with a happy ending!

Summary: I'm Done, Danielle
Review: Have you ever read an author's book that you disliked so much, you couldn't get it out of your mind? This is another one. This story is so unrealistic, I don't know where to start. One thing for sure no one lacks for money in Ms. Steel's stories, jetting everywhere, staying in 4 Star hotels, calling for cars to take them everywhere. It's a world I can't comprehend. Most people would have been bankrupt after a 2 month hospital stay and 9 months in a top notch rehab. Also a small detail but how does Bill hop into the shower from his wheelchair? None of the hotels I've stayed in have a shower you can roll into and I'm sure Isabella did not reserve a room for physically challenged.
I was VERY disappointed in the end when Gordon did not get his come uppance. Better luck with your next effort Ms. Steel

Summary: Romance close to reality
Review: I enjoyed the romance that went on between Isabelle and Bill. I could understand why they found solace in one another. However, it wasn't one of her better books. I really liked The Promise, which was an earlier book. Maybe that is why this story doesn't have the same simplicity and reality combined. Although it was a good read to pass the time, a better read is Cherrie Kimbrough's Rosewood.

Review: I really was captivated by this book. We were on a vacation with some family members and I started reading this book and I admit I was poor company. I loved this book and the characters.
I could hardly wait to finish it to see how it ended.

Summary: Pretty good
Review: I used to read DS all the time, but have slowly weaned myself off when it occured to me that her books all followed the same basic plotline, and as a result are painfully predictable. The female character goes through pure hell before emerging victorious with the man of her dreams. Nothing wrong with books addressing women overcoming adversity, but with her the woman is always perfect, nice, loving, she does no wrong to anyone--it's just that life has handed her a bad hand. And usually it's an awful (sometimes unbelievable) hand.Hence this pattern continues with "The Kiss" except, this was worst than most. Many people in these reviews point to Steele's repetitiveness, and I can't not agree more. Does she think we didn't catch it the first 30 times she mentioned that Timmy was sick, her husband [is horrible], and she loves Bill? I skimmed through some parts that just repeated things... I have a feeling Ms. Steele made use of the "Copy and Paste" feature on her word file (ha!) The predictable (and boring) ending was such a disappointment... all of a sudden after being so stubborn he turns around and decides he wants her. Not a lot of fluidity. Hope Steele sees this...

Summary: an OK read
Review: Isabelle Forrester and Bill Robinson live in different continents but carry on a friendship via the telephone and a few visits here and there for four years. Isabelle stays at home with her sick child Teddy and her hateful husband. Bill is in a loveless marriage and doesn't want to get divorced because he's afraid it will hurt his career. Isabelle and Bill decide to meet in London for a few days to spend some time together. While in London they share a passionate kiss while at practically the same moment their limousine is hit by a double-decker bus. Their lives are forever changed. The Kiss is an OK read. The characters are well developed and the storyline for the most part is good. However, there are some parts that are a little far-fetched, such as Bill's hospital bed being wheeled into Isabelle's room everyday. The story seems to get stuck at times and the same details are repeated, which seems is becoming a habit for Ms. Steel. But, once you get past the repetitive parts the story picks up and is interesting and easy to read. The reader is anxious to get to the end to see how the story ends. This is not one of Ms. Steel's best books but is OK to pass the time reading. A nice change of pace and escape in today's world.

Review: It amazes me that Ms. Steel has as many readers as she does.."The Kiss" was a book that failed to hold my attention..I couldnt finish it. I felt like the whole time I was reading..instead of being "Shown" what was going on I was being told all of the time..This leads to flat characters and a story I just didnt care about at all. Also..whats with all of the repetition?? Surely I got the point that Isabelle is concerned with Teddy's health after the first 55 times she mentioned it!!! I swear she repeats herself just to fill up space..All in all I thought this was a poorly written book that just isnt worth the time it takes to read..I wouldnt recommend it.

Summary: Danielle's going downhill
Review: Like many others, I found the constant repetition VERY tiresome. I skimmed a lot in this book, and read it much more quickly than I normally would a book of this length. I figure she probably could have cut about 150 pages with all the repetition! And to make Bill such a jerk after they're out of the hospital is just dumb. He seemed *much* more intelligent than that. I realize people react after such a horrible thing happens to them, but it seemed out of character. Danielle Steel still tells a good story, but her stories are getting bogged down in her words. We don't need to be told over and over and over that Isabelle's son is sick and that's why she would never leave the idiot of a husband she has. We don't need to be told over and over and over again how they feel about each other, or any of the other things she repeats ad nauseum througout the book. I hope Danielle Steel reads reviews on sites such as these. The repetition has been an ongoing problem in her last several books.

Review: Ms.Steel is truly the Queen of repition. She needs to get some new editors and listen to them or unplug her word processeor. I see that is the ongoing critism of her books. I swore I was never going to read another of her soaps(I can't stand those either) but this given to me by friends that said it was sooo good. I'll stick with the authours I know I like from now on. And I hope she finds some new descriptions to use besides impeccably and exquisite/exquisitely, she has worn these out. BUT she's laughing all the way to her banks and investment brokers.
