Rating: Summary: calculated attempt to steal our money Review: I thought this would be like the "Horror Movie Survival Guide," a comprehensive guide to the world of horror movies. But no. The title is a lie -- it's not about B-movies at all. B-movies include Westerns, film noir, spy movies, slapstick comedies, dozens of genres. This is about horror. It's not a book at all. It's a collection of joking lines like "If all of your friends have disappeared, don't go skinnydipping," in huge print, so the whole text amounts to no more than 2,000 words -- the length of a short article. Whoever decided to steal our money by passing off this monstrosity as a "book" should be horse whipped.
Rating: Summary: Well Worth The Purchase Review: I totally enjoyed this book. I thought the cartoons were fun, the jokes are cute and the celebrity stories added a lot. People always pick it up off my coffee table and say how clever it is, so for that alone it was worth purchasing. Be cool buy this book!
Rating: Summary: this book rocks Review: If you are looking for a serious book to learn the craft of acting, there are plenty of those in the library. If you are looking for the most unique look at b-movie making available as told by the people who know the most, buy this book! It's quick, funny, and gives you an insight that you cannot find elsewhere.
Rating: Summary: Great Gift Review: Received this book as a birthday gift seeing I was born on Oct. 31st, and really enjoyed it! Great table book for friends to flip through while you're in the john.
Rating: Summary: Good Humor Review: To find the true measure of this tongue-in-cheek horror movie book, put it on your coffee table and use it to compare notes while watching a monster/horror flick. This thing is dead-on...and funny! The hilarious intro, written by drive-in movie expert Joe Bob Briggs, is worth the price of the book. You can easily use B-Movie Survival Guide to set up beer drinking games while yelling at the screen. (example -- drink a beer every time someone opens the cellar door.) Killer (no pun intended) illustrations, too.
