Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Too detailed opening book
Review: Giving this tome a mere 3 stars might be harsh, but I have to be subjective. I personally prefer opening books that teach you to understand the opening, but this one concentrates too much on moves and variations.

Having gone through most of the book and having studied some chapters more closely, I cannot say that I understand the e3 Nimzo any better now than before. It doesn't help me much to know if the author thinks that a certain side variation is "=" or "+=", if he provides little explanation why.

If you are a strong player (I am <2200) and have an excellent memory and you want to memorize moves, this book could be for you. Or if you already understand the opening in question, and you just need a reference book. But I was slightly disappointed, and I decided not to take up the e3 variation as I had planned.
