Summary: You don't even have to be single. . . . .
Review: Anyone, man or woman, who's ever been in the dating scene will get a kick out of this book! Plan an evening with the girls, have a glass of wine, and read this book out loud. Share passages to your boyfriend/husband/signigicant other. Dating ... - but it helps when you can get a good laugh out of it. Thanks Laurie :)

Summary: No more boo hoo for you hoo
Review: Everyone gets dumped--universal love in a way; the part of love that stinks! Nice to have someone tell it like it is so you don't feel so freaky when going thru the 12 trillion self eroding emotions. It's good for many laughs which heals the wounds and tames the bitter in us all. I've bought 3 extra copies for friends in precarious relationships.

Summary: Fun between the...covers
Review: I got dumped and a friend gave me this book. I gave her the thank-you-no-thank-you smile and tossed it in my backseat for about a month. Then on a particularly bad day I curled up with it and started going, hey, that's me! And that too! And then I started laughing and I felt a little better and I was like wow, I'm glad my friend gave me this book. Be your own friend and give it to yourself.

Summary: Rocks!
Review: I NEVER laugh out loud from a book--never! EXCEPT, with this book I did. OMG--how odd, how fun. Get it.

Summary: Not really about breaking up
Review: I was disappointed in this book, because I had thought it was a book about dealing with a breakup and it isn't.

What it is is a book of funny and cute advice about romance in general, mostly presented as answers to letters that readers have sent in to the author's website. The questions answered range from "I'm sixteen, should I hurry up and have sex now?" to "I'm happily married, but I'm still hung up on my ex-husband, who's in prison. What should I do?" and not many of them deal directly with breakups. All the letters are available online.

What appears to have happened is that the publisher decided that books on breakups are more marketable than funny books on being single, so they added a table of contents that looks convincing, some cute graphics and a purple, fake suede cover to seem comforting - oh, and each chapter heading does in fact have a couple of pages of content actually dealing with what the chapter claims to be dealing with ("ex sex", "life after ex", etc.) The remaining 3/4 of the book consists of letters and brief stories of the author's many avoidances of weird would-be boyfriends.

Summary: New on the dating scene
Review: I was in a relationship for 8 yrs! And out for 1. I feel like a bear coming out of hibernation. I was taking this dating thing waaay too seriously so a friend gave me a copy of "It's not me, It's YOU!" and told me to lighten up! Soooo glad she did. Now it all seems less overwhelming.

Summary: Scrump-dilli-icious!
Review: Like a 24-hr emergency crisis friend. When you get nutty and think about calling your ex call up these pages. It will reboot your brain while your heart calms down. Breaking up stinks. This book makes it a little less stink-a-luscious.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Laugh-out-loud funny
Review: Lots of those girly boy books are sappy and cutesy. This one is straight on and really funny. I got it off a friend's bookshelf but have ordered 2 for my friends, aka my latest dump victims.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: She's so real and really funny
Review: Reading this book is like being out having coffee with a good friend. She's so real, guess she's been there(?). Anyway, liked it a lot. Getting it as gifts for a few unfortunate friends :( or :) bcse there's this book to help them thru it. Yeah.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This book makes you feel good when you're feeling bad
Review: Since my break-up most days have felt like a bad, made-for-tv-movie about low self-esteem. I got sick of myself! I recently read It's Not Me - It's You. It was hilarious and enlightening (yup.) I guess I'm on the road to recovery.
