Rating: Summary: Great material, but previously published in other books Review: Being a Joe Pass fan I was excited to see this new book and bought it right away. When it arrived I was disappointed to find that I already owned books that had 90% of the material in this edition. It's basically a collection of "Joe Pass Guitar Style", "Joe Pass Guitar Method", "Joe Pass Guitar Chords" and some transcriptions several of the Roland Leone books. I'm returning mine, and never would have bought it if the description had been clear about this. That having been said, it's valuable material for any guitarist interested in Joe's unique style - just be sure you don't already have it before you buy this book.

Rating: Summary: Disappointed Review: On page 52 of the book the author refers to taking a Masters Class with Joe Pass. That and the continual reference to Pass in the 3rd person gives me the strong impression that this is the transcription of someone's notes. The harmony section has no flow, points are made without the context that one suspects was explained in the class. That said, if you have enough harmony background I suppose you can fill in the many blanks. There is good stuff in here but you have to figure out the context for yourself. Definitely not for the novice. Can't say about the seasoned player.
