Review: GARRISONS CASE WAS RIGHT ON AND PROVED THAT OUR OWN SYSTEM KILLED ITS LEADER BASED ON ACTUAL FACTS . THIS IS A SAD WAY TO LIVE IN COUNTRY THAT LIES AND KILLS FOR POWER.

Summary: Utter garbage
Review: I can't believe anyone is still trying to put out the lies that NBC and their b.s. "whitepaper" did against Jim Garrison. Garrison was and is a hero, he's the only one who brought a prosecution in the murder of the president of the United States. Shaw was CIA, it was admitted after his death, under oath, by Richard Helms. Victor Marchetti, executive secretary for the CIA director, said in 1975 that the CIA was actively giving assitance to Shaw and his lawyers, and had a big hand in the NBC hatchett job on Garrison. Shaw knew Oswald, and Ferrie, was photographed with both and was in Clinton with both. No one was drugged, a witness voluntarily was given sodium pentathol, there was no "bribes", but there were attempts to set up Garrison to discredit him. Lambert is an out and out liar, and this book is garbage. I'd rate it a 0 but that option isn't offered.

Summary: Good dissection of Shaw trial.
Review: I had already read and enjoyed this book before I read other people's reviews. I find it amusing, but not suprising, that the pro-conspiracy lunatic fringe would come out in force to slam Lambert's book with one-star ratings, as they do any book that does not fit their particular view of this tragedy. I continue to find it amazing how many of the hard-core buffs will defend the most untenable theories. An objective person would seemingly place the Garrison / Stone view among the lowest of the waste heap of discarded theories, especially when one knows of the real Garrison who ran wild in New Orleans for many years. Even David Lifton (author of Best Evidence), who espoused some pretty crazy theories, saw through Garrison.

The actual trial is part of the public record. Reading the transcript and the contemporaneous accounts of it reveals the liberties Stone took with what occurred. There is a reason why Perry Russo, Charles Spiesel, and Vernon Bundy do not appear in the movie JFK. Stone would look as foolish as Garrison did when these "witnesses" testified in court.

My advice to people new to the JFK buffs: the more shrill, one-star denunciations of a book, the more a reasonable person may want to read the book and decide for themself. I give Lambert a B for writing, and an A+ for having the guts to incur the wrath of the cult of "buffs." And no, I don't work for the CIA.

Summary: It's obvious which "reviewers" here didn't read the book.
Review: It's such a shame that people like this author,20% of the American public, and all of the so called reporters and journalists who represent the established media, continue to assasinate President Kennedy, and other leaders after their deaths. In this flag waving, Bush-infested, nausea inducing time of fake patriotism, we should be dedicated to finding the truth behind these murders, and the reasons why the government, the military, local and federal police/goverment agents, and the media, have had a hand in the actual murders, and most certaintly the cover-up that follows. Then everyone wants to know why 9-11 really happened. If Kennedy had lived, there would be no Vietnam,
no Watergate, Iran-Contra, no October Surprise, no Hostages in Iran, and no Gulf wars. Because America would, had Kennedy lived,
be seen as a country that was dedicated to peace, and not the genocide of 3.5 million asians in Vietnam. The people of the middle east has been observing the actions of the U.S. and its foreign policy since World War 2. It is this history, with our support of Isreal even when they are wrong that has lead to the hatred
that they have for America. How can one support a Goverment, a military, and an FBI that sought and achieved the murders of John and Robert Kennedy, Martin Luther King, and countless other americans, whose only crime was a commiment to peace, and the welfare of those less fortunate, demanding those basic human rights that the priviledge few seem only to have. In 1979 the House Select Committe on Assasinations found conspiracies in these murders, and asked the Justice Department to Investigate further. To this day nothing has been done. Why? That seemed like a direct order to me that was dis-obeyed. I am retired miltary and I know you can catch hell for that. So before we go droping bombs all over the place lets at least try to find some truth at home. Lets not ridicule people who seek the truth about president Kennedys murder. Jim Garrison,or his surviving family doesn't deserve this. The Kennedy family doesn't deserve this. President Kennedy was a good man, with the best interests of the American people at heart. But it seems a few of those in high places, cast a veto on his presidency and his life.

Summary: It's obvious which "reviewers" here didn't read the book.
Review: Of all of the reviews of this book posted here, there are sooo many ridiculous charges made it is hard to know whether to laugh or cry. I've read such idiocy as "Paid for by CIA?", and "just backs up Warren Report" until I am blue in the face. If these "reviewers" would have bothered to read this incredible book, they would note that the author does not back up the "CIA" or "Warren Report".

What this book is about is the farscical trial in which "Big Jim" Garrison abused the office of District Attorney to persecute a man that he knew was innocent. He did this by bribing, coercing, and intimidating witnesses. All of this, including the false testimony, was later attested to by the actual participants themselves, after Big Jim was out of power and could no longer directly hurt them. It is the story of a corrupt man shamelessly using a national tragedy to attempt to thrust himself into the national spotlight, irrespective of who he destroyed in the process.

Additionally, this is one of the better researched books I've read in a while, and the generous listing of sources is in itself an interesting read.

Bottom line: This book neither affirms nor denies any JFK conspiracy, nor does it claim or attempt to (a simple glance at the cover will tell you that this is not its' goal). It is a facinating read for those of us not around at the time to better understand the roles of the participants rather than relying on the notoriously unreliable Oliver Stone and his ilk to present to us his version of events.

Summary: Lambert is on the money
Review: Patricia Lambert finally puts into context the truth behind the investigation by Jim Garrison into the JFK assassination. Lambert's evidence categorically proves that the Garrison investigation had no basis to even get off the ground. The number of witnesses who have stated that Garrison has mis-interpreted and mis-represented them is astonishing. If you think that Garrison simply MUST have had something because of his position as a District Attorney - I urge you to read this. The abuse of power and process practised by Garrison is disgusting and his persecution of Clay Shaw diabolical. The only pity is that this book was not written and published whilst Garrison was still alive.

Summary: Pat Lambert- uses Emotion, not Evidence
Review: recent declassified documents reveal that Ferrie was prepping UDT Teams for the Bay of Pigs Invasion. HSCA Councilman Tannembaum just revealed that the Committee had photos of Ferrie, Oswald and Shaw. along with a film which Tannenbaum saw which shocked him Depicting Ferrie and Oswald training the Cubans in the Louisiana Swamps. despite that Garrison made some mistakes during the Shaw case. nevertheless he was in the right track. his records show how well organized his team was along with the local cases they won. Garrison was not the crooked DA as Pat Lambert describes in her book. he runs his campaigns on a tight budget. if he was a crooked DA, he would have had a lavish house with all the modern appliances, in fact he does not. Walter Sheridan, admitted in a party that his agenda is to discredit Garrison and forced the witnesses to say what he wants them to say by threats. simple advice, read "Let Justice be Done" and "Destiny Betrayed" which is meticulously researched and detailed examination of the Garrison Case.

Summary: The ugly truth about an American disgrace
Review: The assassination of John F. Kennedy was one of the great tragedies in our history. People have always suspected that there was something being covered up about the crime, and when Jim Garrison came along to point fingers at the FBI, the CIA, the military-industrial complex, President Lyndon B. Johnson, and anyone else he could get a bead on, many people thought, "He must have SOMETHING."

But he didn't. As Patricia Lambert's groundbreaking book demonstrates in brutal detail, every claim of Garrison's was a lie and every bit of "evidence" was phony. He conducted a witch-hunt that wrecked the lives of several innocent people, all the while shouting, "Wait till the trial! Wait till the trial!" And at the trial, he had . . . nothing.

But Garrison proved to be a master craftsman at one particular feat: the comeback. His 1988 memoirs make a compulsive page-turner that convinced Oliver Stone to bring Garrison to the big screen. There was only one problem: a whole new generation was conned.

Patricia Lambert dismantles the entire fiction, revealing the truth behind what really went on in Garrison's circus, debunking the DA's book page by page, and examining the way Oliver Stone fudged the facts to make a hero out of a McCarthy-esque demagogue. The result is the devastating true story of a monstrous abuse of power and public trust.

Summary: Lambert Misleads the Public
Review: This book may as well be thrown into my garbage can. I have studied Jim Garrison for years now, and Ms. Lambert's work has been the worst I have seen yet. I believe that she has been reading alot of the nonsense that was published in between 1967-1969 by such reporters as James Phelan, Rosemary James, along with James Kirkwood.

The material that she uses has been misquoted, misconstrued, and overall, alot of the things printed is just fiction. Patricia, I think you would have been better off writing about Monica Lewinski, and the sexual ordeals of Larry Flint. Your book is distorted, and a fabrication from start to finish.

Summary: PAID FOR BY THE CIA ?
Review: This book should be renamed "ALL LIES". As the years pass, Jim Garrison has been proven to be right in all aspects of his investigation. Read Jim Garrison's "On The Trail Of The Assasins" or Mark Lane's "Plausible Denial" for the TRUE facts about the investigation. DON'T WASTE YOU'RE TIME OR MONEY ON THIS BOOK OF COMPLETE LIES AND NON-FACTUAL INFORMATION. Jim Garrison has always been bashed by the media and government, so of course now that he's no longer with us, people like Patricia Lambert are just cashing in on making up lies and fake information on Jim. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BOOK!!!!!!
