Review: I've been a guitarist for close to twenty years and spent innumerable dollars on music, instructional material, and gear. This book ranks as one of my top ten purchases! I cannot believe the amount of effort that went into the examples and text of this work. It's a desktop reference for great lines. There is very little good material out there for the advanced guitarist, but I recommend this book most strongly.

Summary: Where's the passion with guitarists
Review: Joe Diorio has put an intense effort in peeling back the layers of a difficult improvisational vehicle. He has a large compendium of example licks to start a guitarist on a million tangents. However, I always wonder why guitarists never seem to achieve the kind of passionate urgency heard in John Coltrane's incredible solos on Giant Steps.
