Rating: Summary: Video Poker is the Game to Play Review: Because video poker often has a positive expectation, it is the one machine game that really offers the player the chance to get the best of the casinos. The only caveat to that statement is that you must select the best machines and play the proper strategies on those machines. This book shows you exactly how to do both ofthose things. In addition to selection and stategies, Frank Scoblete explains how the machines are programmed and what that means for your expectation. This is a solid book and easy to understand.
Rating: Summary: A Winning Book Review: I have read several books on video poker but this one is the best. Aside from the fact that it is a fun book to read, hard thing to do when you are writing about over one hundred machines, it has strategies that are easy to use and that can give you a good shot at the casino's money. What I liked about it was the organization and accessibility of the information. The book takes the major machine divisions, jacks or better, deuces wild, joker poker, and others, and gives the variations of these types with distinct strategies for each. A very good book and I recommend that video poker players get it.
Rating: Summary: It's A Whole New World Review: I switched from playing slots to video poker after reading this book and I have begun to win more than I ever have in the past. This book showed me exactly which machines to play and how to play them and also what to avoid. It was very well written and the strategies are easy to learn and not too complicated. Scoblete is a very good writer who really makes it easy to understand.
Rating: Summary: Finally a Video Poker Book that Makes SENSE Review: number one business in this country is slots don't you dare buy this book
Rating: Summary: Finally a Video Poker Book that Makes SENSE Review: The strategies in this book are written in plain English and are easily memorized and understood. You would think a book such as this would be dry but Scoblete has enough filler material in addition to the strategies that the book is actually quite enjoyable to read. And it has improved my video poker game immensely.
Rating: Summary: VP is OK with Right Strategies Review: This book is a godsend to players who are looking to play a very close game with the casinos on the video poker machines. It is also a very fun book to read. Scoblete writes for the average reader and he doesn't fill his book with a lot of esoteric charts and formulas that are almost incomprehensible. Nor does he try to show how brilliant he is by creating strategies that only Einstein could understand. This book will go a long way towards helping the average player become an excellent player.
Rating: Summary: Why Not Play With An Edge? Review: Victory at Video Poker is a well researched and very important book, especially for those who have never played video poker or have been playing the wrong strategies. As some reviewers have noted, video poker is a beatable game if you played the right machines and use the correct strategies. Even in areas of the country that don't offer the best video poker, you can still find machines that played properly will cut down the house edge remarkably. This book also has sections on othe video games such as blackjack and keno. I found the writing style to be very professional and at times quite amusing. This book has changed my perceptions of casino games.
