Summary: Informative and well-written
Review: Following a series of informative Sims Prima guides, this edition for the latest Expansion Pack, Hot Date, is a must-have for all people that own or want to own The Sims: Hot Date. This book covers the original The Sims game and the Hot Date Expansion Pack. A negative? Those of us with all three expansion packs had to buy seperate guides for each of them. It covers Cheat Codes and Quick Start Tips, your Sims' personalities, their moods and motives, autonomy (how they decide what to do), their social interactions, the job/career path, economics, building their houses, objects, and how to make and find new Sim stuff. Once again, BUY THIS BOOK if you want your Sims to succeed.

Summary: Hot Date strategy guide review
Review: I found the list explaining the new characters and new social interactions very useful. The object list is very basic (original Sims and Hot Date objects only), and you can find things like the cheats on fan sites easily. However, it was also useful in keeping track of which objects were original Maxis objects since I have collected so many fan site objects now! I was, however, somewhat disappointed that no living large objects or house party objects were mentioned in this guide. Then again, it is possible to own hot date without ever having owned living large, SIMS DELUXE, or house party. (Not as much fun though, and if you purchase these expansion packs later, chances are you will have to reinstall your game (be sure to back up your neighborhoods and downloaded custom objects, skins, walls, floors etc. first BEFORE reinstalling). So I recommend to get the prior expansion packs first to avoid the hassle of reinstalling.)

Summary: Great Strategy Guide!!!
Review: If you've played this game for an hour, you will already know 99% of ehat they write about in this book. My expectation was for that of a STRATEGY guide, not a "how to".

Summary: It is ture!!!
Review: Imagine being in a club, you see the guy of your dreams, dancing with his lady. Well in The Sims Hot Date, you walk up to your guy, start a conversation, and just take him away, and if you are very bad, you feed him, dance with him, and take him home with you.
Create a neighborhood of wild women who take what they want. They even have a "make out couch", and the hot tubs are made for love. What is there not to like about this?

Summary: I love to make relationship with my Sims!
Review: It' a cool expansion, where your Sims will fall in love or hate themselves. You will find the right person for your Sims and develope the same interest if you want that some one fall in love with your Sims. This is a great game!!! Then, you have to buy "Vacation", where your families will go together in a cool trip for the weekend, and they will be more close to themselves. I recomend it 100%.

Summary: For hard-core Sim-ers and Rookies alike.
Review: Over all an excellent strategy guide. No, there are no mind blowing secrets revealed nor special passwords to unlock the meaning of life, but who would really expect something like that anyway? It does a great job going over the new social interactions introduced with the Hot Date expansion pack as well as the new items and the new downtown options including how to build a successful downtown lot. Trust me, these things can get tricky.
The only true drawback to this guide is the review of the general Sims game. The comparisons I liked (before it was like this . . . now it's like this . . .) because some things were really rearranged. However, it should be assumed that the person already has The Sims and only needs an explaination of Hot Date. This is what keeps it from getting 5 stars from me :) On the other hand, this small aspect is what would make the book great for first timers too.
*Be aware that this book only contains info for the original Sims and the Hot Date expansion pack . .any additional items, characters, or jobs added by Livin' Large and/or House Party are not included in this book.

Review: The most useful thing about this book is the section on date interactions and the different NPCS that are available with the "Hot Date" expansion pack. To get to know the different people you will meet downtown and see which interactions and topics to explore in different situations. It allows you to get a great date experience without a lot of experimentation and time. Really useful for dating. For everyday Sim gameplay, the guide says some, but not a whole lot more than you get with your game manual. Also, the pictures are black and white, which is kind of underwhelming. But overall I would recommend this for serious Simmers who want to get the most of their social interactions.

It provides very useful information about how to act downtown, what to do, how to act on a date, what to say, and basically anything you need to know inorder to succeed.It contains a section about the Hot-Date EP as well as an Introduction to the Sims. Some people might find the intro a little repetitive but again, it also gives very helpful tips on how to succeed in the regular house as well. Overall it is a great book for reference for the game. You won't be disappointed. Pick it up, and if you do, youll be dating and marrying the whole town!
