Rating: Summary: Should be called Xbox is cool but this book blows ! Review: Now I've been playing video games since Atari 2600 so I don't know who this book was written for. When I see a title like Blow the lid off, I think wow this guy must have some cool stuff to really improve the Xbox, yeah I don't think so.He must have had a deal with microsoft to rewrite the user manual and publish it. Anyone who has owned any games system in the last 20 years can skip this book. Even if you haven't which is unlikely you can pretty much skip 3/4 of the chapters in the book. I think any user with 1/10 a brain can figure out what comes in the box, that they need to buy games, that there are multiple types of cable connections on modern TVs, Hello RF went out of style 20 years ago. I know that game shark exists and go figure there are web sites on the net that have game cheats, WOW what a revelation that is! Another shocker if you install mods microsoft doesn't like it and it will void your warranty. Well I am just amazed at how useless this book has been and not only do I want a refund I want the 20 minutes of my life back that I spent reading through it ! Anyone who is a gamer out there avoid this book. If you've never ever seen a video game in your life and want to read this I'll give you my copy. This doesn't rate 1 star, I hope this guy didn't get paid to write this ! what an embarresment to real authors
Rating: Summary: Don't bother. Review: This is not a bad book. However, I learned nothing from it. Every bit of information I had already learned from either product manuals, or online at a few different websites. People who would benefit from this book are those that A) Don't read product manuals, B) don't have online access, C) Have online access but don't surf for information....
Rating: Summary: umm... this might help someone in elementary school Review: this was totally unhelpful. i was looking for something about modifying the peripherals and xbox hardware and this has nothing to do with it. you could have found out this information reading the xbox manual. waste of time
