Summary: A Disappointed Fan
Review: Don't let the title totally throw you, I wasn't completely disappointed, but there are several flaws with this book, stopping it from being something much better. First of all, the cosmetics of this book were not too great, lots of grainy black and white pictures. Also the thing that really started to grate my nerves was all the typos, misspellings and format bloopers. I wasn't really looking for them, but I bet there was one big error per review, including repeating verbatim entire paragraphs!!! I mean come on, for a show that nit-picks games, they should have really edited this book a lot better. Now the reviews in general were pretty good but I'm asking you, what the heck was up with the review of Prince of Persia, it was insane, I can't believe they published that thing, I read it sometimes just for a laugh it's so bad. So it seems like the book was really rushed, probably to get the reviews out for games that are still relevant, but that's just the thing, I don't think that published books are really the best medium for this kind of venture. Stick to websites and TV, this book will become totally irrelevant in two or three years. But to end this positively the reviews are good and pretty funny and I liked getting the interviews for an inside look so for fans it might be worth it.

I give this book a... 3 out of 5. Sorry guys, but I'm brutally honest and I'm concerned about people throwing away their 20 bones.

Summary: Adam rocks, Morgans Hot!
Review: I'm not much of a video game player, but X PLAY is one of my favorite shows on TV. While essentially a video game review show, the writing on it is so smart, so funny, filled with all sorts of obscure pop culture references, it feels like it was written by Quentin Tarantino, Dennis Miller and the writers of THE GILMORE GIRLS combined. Some of the best comedy writing anywhere. And Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb are the best comedy team on TV.

Now, they have released their first book. X PLAYS INSIDER'S GUIDE TO GAMING

At close to 500 pages, this book is filled with game reviews, interviews and stories by the cast and crew of the show. It is a must for all fans and for those looking for video game reviews.

The only drawbacks to the book are the reviews just aren't as funny without Adam and Morgan reading them. And, the book has the look and feel of a computer manual. While there are a lot of photos in the book, they are all in rather washed out black and white. Plus, with all of the talk in the book about certain skits they performed, I wish they had a companion DVD to watch some of them.

It is a good book, although it is more for the people who watch the show for the reviews rather than for the writing. Still, it is well worth buying.

I give it a 4 ... out of 5.

Summary: Great book for guys AND for girls...
Review: This is a great book from a great show. One of the best features of this book is the female view of games from Morgan. It's so cool that she is in a girl in a guys world. A lot of people forget that there ae girl gamers out there.
