Summary: Aloha Magnum is a wonderful Book
Review: Aloha. Does Larry Manetti mean farewell, as I originally surmised from the title of the book? Or does he mean hello?

I found the book to be very interesting. Perhaps a little too much Manetti and to little Magnum, but nonetheless entertaining. I particularly like Larry's anectodal comments on the series epsiode guide. I've always wondered what goes on behind the scenes. But what on earth is he thinking by including his home cooking recipes? Did the publisher pay him by the page?

What I did find odd is that Tom Selleck didn't make any firsthand contributions to the book - not even the foreward. Makes you wonder, even if just a bit, just how close Larry really is/was to Tom.

Anyhow, this book is a must-read by any Magnum, P.I. fan. I am very intrigued by Larry's innuendo that a Magnum movie deal may be forthcoming. Perhaps we'll be saying Aloha Magnum in the near future.

Long live Magnum!

Summary: a nice book to have for Magnum fans
Review: If you're a Magnum fan, you'll enjoy this book; if you're not, you'd probably never bother to find out it existed. Gives interesting insights about the cast and guest stars and even includes some of Manetti's recipes. The best part about is a comprehensive episode guide which is handy if you ever watch the series in syndication. Runs down all the basics of each episode plus little quirky things that Manetti remembers about the filming.

Summary: Aloha Magnum
Review: Larry Manetti was very candid, especially about himself! The book was very easy to read and I was able to get through it very quickly. It was enjoyable. It is great that the cast got along with each other so well. I know Tom Selleck is good looking but best of all, he's a generous human being - something rare for anyone nowadays!

Summary: Not only a great actor but a great writer as well!
Review: Larry Manetti's book Aloha Magnum is really an awesome book. Tells all kinds of interesting stories about the show and behind the scenes. The recipes are great and the episode guide is wonderful. It's great to see that they all really did get along on and off the set. Thanks for writing such a wonderful book Larry and giving everyone the oppertunity to learn more about you and the show!

Summary: A must for Magnum Fans
Review: This book is great and although it dives into Larry Manetti's life more than the actual show, it still was very enjoyable to read. I thought at firs that Manetti's chapters on his background would be boring but I actually enjoyed those parts the most. He really gives a behind the scene look at the show and you really get to know who and what Tom Selleck is about. Def worth the read!!

Summary: Damn good
Review: This book was fun to read but I wish Mr. Manetti would have included more behind the scenes 'what were they like' type of thing with more of the guest stars and recurring guests that appeared on the show. More photos would have been nice too. I really like the listing of all the episodes included in the back of the book as I didn't realize I'd missed seeing so many; now I can watch for them on A&E. Overall, the book was good, funny and an easy relaxing read. Many times I found myself laughing out loud over some of the stories. I hope Universal will go ahead with the idea of a Magnum movie, wether a feature film or several 2-hour movies for television as mentioned in the book. With all the Magnum fans I know a feature would be a success! Go for it Universal!

Summary: A must for MPI fans
Review: This is an entertaining but different book...and only for Magnum fans! It gives the reader some funny anecdotes and stories from the life on and off the set. You also get a complete episode guide with some more (or less) interesting private comments by Manetti. He's seems to be a funny guy and that's reflected in how this book is written.

I think Manetti is great as Rick and I appreciate his part of the greatest TV show ever. I'm also grateful for him writing this book that give us fans some more MPI information but I really don't know why Manetti includes some of his best recipes in this book (even if the recipes look really delicious). This book could be better than it is, but it's better than nothing...and for any Magnum fan it's a must!

Summary: Love the book!! Love the show!! Movie..Movie..Movie..Movie.
Review: What a fun read. I wish I could've been there. Larry's book treats us to all of the real fun and hijinks and at the same time rekindles the on-screen flavor and spirt of Magnum, P.I. Tom, Larry, Roger and John, if your listening, MOVIE..MOVIE..MOVIE.. Aloha!
