Summary: Complete trash printed on expensive paper
Review: From star to finish, this book is a complete joke!. This book which was written by an ameteur starts off with Jewels talking about her childhood, accomplishments, and goes into a dedication that goes on and on and on and on!. Then she writes about the clothing worn by Exotic dancers, their preference in dance music, how much to tip the bouncer, and the boring facts about Bar rules.
Jewels then writes an entire chapter on why a woman should be proud to be a stripper(expensive toys for your kids, lots of clothes, different men, etc). Towards the end of the book, Jewels goes out of her way to make taking a bath sound like a ritual done only by the sexiest most seductive women in the world, not the common everyday lady.
I am a stripper and I'm always looking for tools to better my performances, but Jewels only wasted my time and money with this ridiculous book, I guess I shouldn't complain too much since it will make good fireplace material.
Ladies, there are lots of informative books and videos out there. Here on amazon, you'll be able to find plenty good books, not like this one. I only wish I had read the reviews about this book before I purchased it.

Summary: STUPID BOOK WITH IDIOTIC THOUGHTS AND ADVISE
Review: HI EVERYONE,

I'M AN EXCHANGE STUDENT AND HAVE BEEN IN THE U.S FOR 12 MONTHS. I BOUGHT THIS BOOK ON AMAZON AND COULD NOT BELIEVE HOW STUPID IT WAS. PLEASE READ ALL THE REVIEWS, ALL THESE DIFFERENT READERS GO INTO SPECIFIC DETAILS ABOUT THIS RIDICULOUS BOOK WRITTEN BY SOMEONE WHO APPEARS TO BE A LITTLE OFF.

THE ADVISE THIS SELF PROCLAIMED PROFESSIONAL GIVES IS FOR THE BIRDS! JEWELS BRAGS AND BOASTS ALOT IN THIS BOOK, BUT THAT'S ABOUT ALL YOU GET. SHE NEVER DOES OFFER ANY ADVISE TO OTHER EXOTIC DANCERS OR EVEN HOUSEWIVES. I CAN'T BELIEVE ANYONE WOULD EVEN BOTHER TO PRINT THIS PILE OF RUBBISH.

THERE ARE LOTS OF BOOKS OUT THERE THAT CAN OFFER MEN AND WOMAN SOUND ADVISE THAT CAN BE USEFUL FOR SPICING UP A MARRIAGE OR OFFER ADVISE ON HOW TO BE SEDUCTIVE OR STRIP IN YOUR HOME OR ON A STAGE, THIS IS DEFINATELY NOT ONE OF THEM! JEWELS SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HERSELF FOR WRITING SUCH A STUPID BOOK WITH NOTHING IN IT BUT MUMBLE-GUMBLE THAT MAKES NO SENSE TO ANY SANE PERSON!

MY ADVISE IS: BUY BOOKS FROM PROFESSIONAL WRITERS THAT HAVE SOME EDUCATION, WRITING SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE ON THE SUBJECT(just because you're a stripper, does not make you a professional in the field) AND A WRITER WHO SHOWS SOME KIND OF CLASS!!

Summary: Wish it were better
Review: I am a little disappointed. I was told that it was not a very well writtten book by people who personally had the book and by the written reviews here on Amazon. I had to give it a try anyways. I met Jewels a couple of times and she is a very striking lady. Even though I looked forward to reading, it took quite an effort to make it through the book. As a tutorial, it fell well short of any expectations that anyone could have. As a introspection of our or her morals, it was not provocative or insightful. The "not so pure" part of me wanted to see some appealing photos but there again this book provided nothing.

Stripping entices dancers and patrons by offering the spice of life. Though money and the the sexual attention are mere illusions, I would have liked to have had my perspectives challenged. Dancing is more than strapping on the t-bar, lacquering on the latex, and moving the hips. There was no excitement or slap of reality in this book. Hence, I have one used book to sell.

Summary: This book is not worth the paper it's printed on !
Review: I am new to Amazon and want to share my experience on several books I have recently read. This book was given to my girlfriend and I as a gift and we barely got through the first paragraph before counting 17 spelling errors!. The worst chapter(or funniest, depends on how you look at it) was Chapter 2, where Jewels magically transforms herself from a loving caring naive mother to a slutty exotic goddess in stilleto heels that leaves her only kid alone while she goes to the local strip bar and takes it off, WHAT A JOKE!

Well, my girlfriend and I continued reading, in hopes that somewhere in the book, this not so there author would discuss waht she does for a living (taking off your clothes!). Needless to say, we read through the entire 270+ pages and all we learned form the book was three things:
1- don't touch a stripper while she's dancing.
2- don't wear heels too long or you'll get blisters &
3- use a scented candle if you want your room to smell nice.

My suggestion is save the money you would have spent on this ridiculous book and go out and get yourself a twelve pack!

Summary: not really a guidebook
Review: I bought this book a couple years ago, but am only reviewing it now because I do want to point out two pluses in this book.

Jewels' main point in writing this book seems to be an attempt to defend her life choices and the life choices of her colleagues, with whom she has an affectionate, supportive view. She wants to encourage all women to better themselves. There is nothing wrong with this motive. But she does this by trying to paint the job of stripping as more esoteric and spiritual than it is. I refer to myself as a stripper. Anything else is just a useless euphuism.

However noble her intentions are, all of her history and personal musings do not belong in a guidebook. A chapter or two at the most should be devoted to these topics and then left alone. As an English major I found the book irritating because of the obvious lack of an editor. As a former stripper I found the book irritating because it did not really go into the detail needed to teach less experienced strippers the tricks of the trade. There are many things to learn, some of which are important for personal safety, some of which are important for maximizing earnings potential. She rarely covers much of anything that cannot be easily figured out.

There are two good points in this book that I liked. First, I did like her ideas for fantasy dance routines (Chapters 10 and 11). For house girls interested in trying to do feature routines, she made some easy suggestions that would work well without a lot of financial investment. A dancer doesn't have to follow these routines to the letter, but they offer a good basic foundation to work with. Yes, I have seen other books with much better suggestions, but the step-by-step routines are a much-needed plus for this book.

The second thing I liked was in Chapter 4, the strange questionnaire chapter. Again, this could have been arranged differently with better effect. I like questions #18-21 where she discusses her method of financial goal-making, breaking it down from monthly to weekly to daily to hourly. She discusses this concept more in the book, but I don't remember where. As a goal-oriented person myself, I found that by setting an hourly goal of dances each night really did help me keep on track so I was able to reach my monetary goals a lot easier. This will not work for every personality, but it was a good tip. It was not something I had thought of before.

Her tips on dancing itself are nearly useless. There are other books that do better. Any description of a physical activity is hard to do, especially dance. Dance lessons are best learned in person or through a well-made video. She never takes into account the actual beat of the music, which is so important to dancing well. This section should've been greatly modified or simply left out. A discussion of good dance music would have been more effective.

This was not the guidebook I was expecting when I bought it. I am glad that she had the wherewithal to get this book published, but I wish she had been better able to explain how to work successfully in a club after 10 years. Her disruptive personal life just overshadowed the book and instead of making her seem human, just made her seem like a flake. There are better stripper books out there, and there are worse as well. I am giving this one star due to the very poor English, the meandering thoughts, the glaring lack of solid "how-to" material and the poor representation of a profession that I know well.

Summary: Dysfunctional preparation went into the making of the book
Review: I just turned 21 & was playing around with the idea of becoming an exotic dancer. There are many books out there that talk about strippers, but most are about their lives. I bought this book because it was a GUIDE book.
Well, I was totally dissapointed in the first 5 minutes of reading it. This stripper(Jewels) only brags on and on non-stop about stuff that is so irrelevant. Unfortunately, I read all these reviews after I bought the book.
Grace gives more details as to what she claims to have accomplished more than she does about the actual dance moves. I don't think there's anything I can add to this review that hasn't been covered already, one thing I will add is that this book was a TOTAL waste of my money. I don't recomended this book to anyone, not even the bored housewife!

Summary: This stripper gives absolutely no guidance-worthless book
Review: I read this book because I wanted to spice up my sex life, I wanted some so-called expert give me expert advise on exotic dancing so I could try it at home. I purchased this book and was totally disappointed.

The book contains close to 300 pages of useless pages. The author's thoughts are scattered, her grammar is terrible, she jumps from subject to subject. she brags and boasts but has nothing useful or meaningful to say. A guide book this is not.
In a nutshell, the book is about a burned out stripper who claims to be naive, yet she has affairs with customers. She talks about her dysfunctional family, her drunk boyfriend and the tons of toys, barbies and clothes she buys her kid from money she makes at the bar. The author gives tips on manicures, how to shampoo your hair, how to brush your teeth, how to shave your legs(she recommends we shave our legs downward with slow strokes), she also gives suggestions on how apply lotion(can you believe that!).

After two chapters of this, the author talks about what kinds of people go to strip bars(doctors, lawyers, accountants, football players, construction's workers, cops, college students, unemployed men, etc.). Then she proceeds to write down all the Arizona liquor laws, which she probably got right off the wall at the bar. The author then jumps to a questionnaire for the reader, right in the middle of chapter 4, how weird is that! .

Jewels then talks about romance in your home. Her EXPERT advice is, take a shower to feel clean for your lover, apply lotion to your body, turn down the lights, play soft music and turn on some candles, that's it, that's her expert advise.

As for dance moves, Jewels does have some PROFESSIONAL recommendations, she recommends we put on some sexy lingerie and heels and crawl around on the floor pointing your bottom at your guy at looking back at him with a big smile. She also recommends we sway our hips back and forth, then round and round, while running your hands through your hair. As for the stage dancers, Jewels recommends they practice twirling around the pole and doing the splits at the same time? .

Toward the end of this ridiculous book, Jewels talks about her workout routine, which consists of 20 pushups, 20 sit ups, 20 leg lifts and 20 squats, that's it!. She finishes out the last few chapters by listing hundreds of community resources, what for is beyond me. She has checklists where the reader is supposed to check the box if she remembers her perfume, her outfits, her makeup, her heels, her music, and last but not least she has to check the box to remember to tip the bouncer and the guy who plays her music for her. At the end she has a certificate of completion that you're supposed to sign and give to yourself once you have read her book, how crazy is that!.

I know this review is weird, but I'm telling about what I have just read. The book itself was weird and this author went from subject to subject and in every chapter, she made sure to mention her so-called accomplishments, how much men adored her, how sexy she thought she was and how she could get any man to do whatever she wanted. This book did not lack any bragging or boasting from the author, what it did lack was guidance, direction and plain common sense. The whole book was a disappointment.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: I WISH I COULD HAVE GIVEN IT 1/2 A STAR- Worse book ever
Review: Jewels the stripper claims this book offers practical advise, secrets of the trade and table dancing tips, but all this book supplies the reader with is personal boasting, dressing room gossip and strip club guidelines.

There is absolutely no guidance in this book and Jewels is obviously a high school drop out with her misspelled words and bad grammer. This book contains 10 chapters, none of which guide or teach.

I am with the other readers on this book, it was not worth the paper it was printed on.

Much better reading material on Exotic dancing from real professionals are:

The art of Exotic dancing by Nada Mirat.
Art of Exotic dancing for everyday women.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Very confusing and contradicting - a true waste of time
Review: This book was a total waste of time. I am a newly married girl who bought this book for it's guidance, but instead, I was reading about a woman who shares more about her childhood, her education, her failed relationships and her self proclaimed good looks, than about stripping or dancing.

The book gives instructions on bathing oneself, not dancing. I know more about seduction and sensuality than this author. I WILL NEVER recommend this book to anyone.

The only thing I liked about the book was trying to guess where the periods went, where the exclamation points went and which words were misspelled. As an elementary school teacher, I felt like circling all the mistakes with a red marker, but I didn't have that much free time!
