Rating: Summary: Holy Moly, Somebody Put His Bat Back In The Cave! Review: After reading the first few pages of this book, it seemed like it was going to be an inspirational story of Burt Ward's struggle to success in one of the most beloved TV comedies of all time. Instead, I was brought into a somewhat funny (if not exaggerated) tell-all. At times it was charming, funny, and clever (for example, the stories about his first wife, apperances at schools, and one heck of a chapter on Julie Newmar) ...but in other moments it would go into sleazy, trashy, and VERY over-exaggerated nonsense (referring to yourself as a mock 'Super Stud Porn King' leaves a bad taste in anyones mouth). Buy it if you are a die hard Batman fan, or if you didn't grow up on the show...but if your only memories are of good natured fun on a clever TV show...read Adam West's "Back To The Batcave".
Rating: Summary: Holy Page Turner,Batman! Review: Be sure to wear asbestos gloves when you read this book, because it is hot!Somebody must have told Burt that he had to include lots of sex in his book, and boy,did he!Let's face it,he had to.His acting career hasn't been exactly stellar. Two years on a rather inane kid's show over thirty years ago,and that's about it.He had to find someway to keep readers interested. So,he piles on the sex stories. My favorite one is the time he had sex with 8 women at one time.(If that doesn't help sell the book, nothing will.)Consider this-if Burt Ward, who was only the second lead, got so much sex, just imagine how much Adam Ward, who was the star, must have gotten!Holy unbelievable,Batman!
Rating: Summary: This is really a five star book Review: I loved this book! After reading some of the reviews on this site, I kind of expected the worse out of Burt Ward's book. I read the book anyway, and thought it was one of the best books I've ever read. Burt chose some hilarious stories to go in his book, and just about each story I laughed my butt off at. It's kind of disappointing to read how Adam reacted at the end of the book about being Burt's Best Man at his wedding. Some of the sex stories had hilarious little bits and pieces in it too. Refer to the Mile High Club story. I found Burt's book more enjoyable than Adam's book. Adam had a few funny stories, but Burt had the guts to let all the funny stories come out. I will gladly go and buy this book, because I enjoyed it so much. And I would go out and buy a sequel if Burt decides to release a 2nd tell all. Burt was always my favorite of the dynamic duo, and I can still testify that he is still my favorite after reading his book. 5 stars...
Rating: Summary: Great! shows the behind-the-scenes Hollywood everyone wants Review: I must disagree with Miss Taylors review. I think she missed the whole point of the book. This was an entertaining book about a young Hollywood TV star who was one of the main draws for the classic Batman and Robin series.I found the book to be very honest and pretty well written as tell alls go. Lets face it: Adam West could have lost a few pounds. He seemed to be seriously testing his Bat Belt. On the other hand, Burt Ward was the young, virile hunk who no doubt caught the eye of many a teenager. If there were "sex-capades" behind the scenes, why not write about them? He would have been dishonest NOT to include such details. Also, if he had problems with West or West's acting, he would have been wrong to leave that out, as well. The fact is: Burt Ward was a star, if not thee star of a cute, entertaining children's show. He was younger and I believe more young people connected with him. He wrote a pretty decent, honest portrayal of his Batman days and he should be applauded for not white washing anything. Any classic Batman and Robin fan should read this book. I think most will enjoy the book and laugh out loud as often as I did
Rating: Summary: Great book not superior. Review: I recommend reading this book if only you did read "Back to the Batcave. Do not hesitate to read this book all in one sitting. It took me a week to read it.
Rating: Summary: Too Much Smut, Not Enough Substance Review: I'm a big fan of private parts, but 300 pages of Burt Ward bragging about his and denigrating Adam West's is tedious (especially since a viewing of the show suggests that Frank Gorshin's Riddler could easily tower over both). Burt, put the ruler away and tell us about your life: what it was like to be the Boy Wonder, to work with some of the biggest stars on television, to rise to the stratosphere as a pop culture icon in the 1960's and then crash and burn in the 1970's. That story would be fascinating; sexcapades with starlets are just sleazy.
Rating: Summary: Vanity press Review: In Ward's book, he claims to have had a relationship with a blonde actress who was making a show the same time he was on the Fox lot. Doesn't take Sherlock holmes to deduce that he's talking about Marta kristen from LOST IN SPACE. He claims she flipped out when he dumped her. Well, I met her co-star and friend Mark Goddard a few years ago, and, with some prodding, he flatly stated that Marta never dated Ward and that his opinion of the 'Boy Wonder' was low indeed. Ward also claims to have viewed a screen test of Lyle Waggoner audioning for BATMAN, and that Ward recognized LW from the Carol Burnett show. Only problem there is that Lyle had yet to join Korman, Burnett et al. at the time BATMAN was in preproduction.

Rating: Summary: My Life In Tights--A Must-Read Review: This book appears to be a totally honest and unabashed account of the filming of the Batman series and the life of Burt Ward. I listened to an audio interview of Burt Ward on a website, in which he discussed this book. It piqued my interest enough to order "Boy Wonder." I thoroughly enjoyed anecdote after anecdote of his life. Personally, I read the book for the three reasons: 1) for what went on in producing Batman 2) to find out what happened to the Boy Wonder after 1968 & 3) to read of the detailed BatSexcapades. I was not disappointed. I highly recommend this book if you're a fan of Burt Ward, assuming you won't be offended by his graphic recounts of his sexual triumphs. I'm only sorry that it took me seven years to read this book after it was originally published.
Rating: Summary: Holy Moly, Somebody Put His Bat Back In The Cave! Review: This is, without a doubt, the worst book that I have ever read. The one conclusion that I drew from the book was that, in real life, Robin is a ... loser. I would have thought that he had an interesting life. I was wrong. What is so sad is that he puffs up himself all through the book, but then he slams almost every person that he ever knew. I think the only exception to that is he speaks well of his kids and his current wife. Of course, he ought to speak well of her because she is his sugar daddy - without her money he would be a poor man, as he has no talent, no scruples and no life. Please, don't read this book. You will thank me for it. Robin, good luck, hope that you find a life someday.
