Summary: No New Info
Review: For as long as I can remember, I've been a Motley Crue fan. So when I saw that Tommy Lee had a book out, I was stoked. Unfortunately, none of the information in his book was new.
If you've read "The Dirt" I wouldn't bother with this book. If you can get it at your local library, great. If not pick up The Dirt instead.

Summary: Could not put it down!
Review: I did the read "The Dirt" a couple of years ago and loved it. I did enjoy this book better. There is just so much more detail and depth in this book. The book totally welcomes you into his world and you get a full understanding of his life and history with everything. I could not put it down. I read it in two days. I loved the way it felt like it was just me and him while I was reading the book. He was telling me just his story, not everyone else. There are times you just wanted to reach out and hug him for what he was going through. I also thought it was cute the way Pamela has her input in the book too. She corrects him on little things, or maybe not correct but how she remembers it. If you like autobiographies, Tommy Lee, Motley Crue, or just a good fast read you will love the book.

Summary: Great Rock and Roll
Review: I really liked the book a lot. It explored Tommy's life as Tommy the father, the son, the husband and the best part the rock and roll maniac! I loved those parts the best! If you read The Dirt you know the routine of feeling like you are reading porn sometimes. But it is a good book, funny and just a great read.

Summary: What a great book!
Review: It took me just four days to read this book! Was never a big fan of Montley Crue but after seeing Tommy on Regis and Kelly a couple weeks ago, I had to get the book. It was crude, funny, sad, serious and funny! It lets you see him as a real person and not just what the media has to report. You may not agree with some of the things he did in his life, but the book helps you understand why he did what he did. I think alot of people in his shoes would have done the same thing. He really has a way with words on telling a common story and making it soooo funny.

Summary: Take it from a pent-up office chick...
Review: Ok, I received this book as a gift. I'm always interested in the crazy rock gods. I mean, hello, they are hot, they are reckless, they have insane histories. I live vicariously through their big hair and bad tatoos. After, like, page 2, I was addicted to this book. It's absolute candy. But there's more! And I'm not joking, there are some really "deep" parts that I totally got sucked into.... I dare you not to get wrapped into the gritty details, the funny parts, the romantic elements.... And the best part is that you actually care about this guy! I mean, you're rooting for him; by the end, when you know he's safe and warm at home, with good things going for him on the horizon, you are actually truly, truly, happy for him. A great book. Tommy, I'm your girl.

Summary: Definitely what I expected...
Review: Tommyland, I thought was a kick ass book. You get to learn about Tommy Lee through his parents, his days in Montley, and his relationship with his former wife Pamela.
What makes this book good is the writing, and how he has his 'anaconda' come into the picture to share his comments in the book. Tommy Lee was born to a American father and a Greek mother, his mother didn't speak a word of English, but the love for each other was there, and when Tommy was growing up, he fell in love with music, and started to play the drums which then lead to him joining a band; Montley Crue to be more exact, and at the age of 17, he got a record deal, but he wanted to quit high school to pursue his career, but his father at least wanted him to get his High School Diploma and get more schooling just so that he could have something to fall back on if his career in music fails. Eventually, during high school, Tommy was a shy person, but he could get the ladies I can tell you that. In one chapter, he tells his readers how to do 'sexual' things with a woman, and advice. Tommy then talks about his times with Vince Neil; which in Tommy's word's was a 'straight a**hole.' Yet, he stayed in Montley because he loved what he was doing. Eventually as Tommy got older, he then met Pamela, had two boys which he describes as seeing something you created as 'one of the most moving experiences a person could ever have.' Eventually, stress from work caved in on their marriage, and they divorced. Now earlier in the book, Tommy marries Heather Lockeler which at that time in the 80's she had a rising career in the TV field; T.J. Hooker and Dyansty. But it ended when Tommy visited a porno suit with Ron Jermery and got 'oral pleasure' from one of the porn stars, eventually just a couple of hours later, Heather filed for divorce. As Tommy got older, things between Montley and his life got in the way, and he left the band after 20 years of kicking ass. He then created his own band called 'Method's of Mayhem' and came out with a CD. The CD was different from the other stuff he did with Montley, but he thought it was a good CD anyway. Tommy then tells his readers about his love for music, and so forth.

The book is good and the writing is good also (though ghost written), and it would make a good present for a rocker like myself or a huge Montley fan.
