Summary: Graffiti World
Review: For a minute I thought I was the only person I know that hated this book. I believe Nicholas Ganz was too far outside struggling to get a look at an already active / flourishly culture and failed to understand who or what to look for when making his book.
I got this book for Christmas and sold it used the following week. See for yourself... if this book was just released in the states why are there already so many used copies for sale so soon? Obviously I wasn't the only person dissatisfied. Beyond the hard cover of this book nothing about it impressed me.

Summary: Good Book
Review: I think this book is great for any collector of graffiti/street art stuff. It was a great documentation and I love looking through any collection of photos like these. My only problem was that it was a little too hyped up and I expected a bit more out of it. I was hoping it would have more in some of the bigger cities. NY only had a very small part in it. It seemed to lack some history too. More interviews and written history would have been nice. I would have rather it had been 2 separate books, one covering just street art and the other covering graffiti. It just seemed like too much to cover. Maybe I am just spoiled because there is access to all of it on the internet. Overall, good job!!!

Summary: The bible of global graff
Review: Some years ago the only book for graff was spraycan art... Nowdays ther's an explosion of this art on webs books etc.
Is impossible to have in one book the best graff artist from every country, but this book is close to that.
If you are thinking about buying something about this subjet, this is your book.

Summary: Graffiti World
Review: The color photos are cool. It's too bad so many photo's are missed credited or listed as "unknown". Big mistake if your trying to catalog or archive anything especially art. This deprives the artist his place in history and the credit he deserves. It also prevented this reader from learning something new . I enjoyed the CMP and Cope stuff. Over all there wasn't enough I liked about it for me to recommend this book. The up side is I just got hip hop files and I love it :)

Summary: Horrible
Review: The contents wack. When the price drops to $5.00 maybe consider picking this one up.

Summary: Graffiti World
Review: This book is insulting to those of us who actually have a pre-existing understanding of graffiti. Since it's inception in the mid 60's or early 70's depending on who you ask (Corn Bread or Taki 183) graffiti has become a global phenomenon probably why the book is called "Graffiti World". This book fails to answer who were some of these people that have helped make this culture as popular as it is? Every region of the world with an active graffiti scene has it's own pioneers (their own Corn Breads, Taki's and Phase 2's) respectively. Why are NONE of these people represented in his book? As far as research goes it's a very lazy effort. I can honestly say there is nothing in this book you could not find on ArtCrimes.com for free. If indeed your looking for a real graffiti book (of subsatnce) please pick up: "Subway Art", "Getting Up", "Dondi White", "The Art Of Getting Over", "Spray Can Art", "All City", "Taking The Train", "Aerosol kingdom" or "The faith of Graffiti" (if you can find it). Nothing personal but if I could of rated this book a zero I would have.

Summary: Graffiti World
Review: This book is no different than any other graff rag on the market. Just like all graff mags, all of the photos in this book were contributed from random corners of the globe. In fact the author still has a post on Art Crimes where he's encouraging graffiti artist to mail in their submissions. Strangely I didn't find any mention of this in the book (?) or maybe I was in such a hurry to get through it I didn't catch it.
I found much better interntional graffiti in Graphotism's International Graffiti issue # 15 and for half the cost. This book gets 2 thumbs down.
