Summary: Book was so funny!
Review: Being a parent also, I found myself rolling on the floor from laughing so much. A book that's humor is so real in the life of a family. Looking forward to her next book if she does one.

Summary: The safety valve of laughter that can keep you going
Review: Carpool Tunnel Syndrome: Motherhood As Shuttle Diplomacy is memorable collection of a laugh filled, all-too-true chapters of the foibles, frustrations, and demands of contemporary motherhood. Judy Gruen is a master storyteller. One of my favorites is her "How Green Was My Checkbook", where she reports the dubious success of trying to save money by purchasing everything in five-gallon tubs at one of those "super saver" supermarkets where you need ladders to reach the top shelves. If you've ever felt on the verge of a parental meltdown, the Carpool Tunnel Syndrome is the safety valve of laughter that can keep you going!

Summary: Guaranteed to make you laugh!
Review: I am over 60 and even though I don't drive a carpool, the few chapters I have already read left me weak, after I laughed harder than I've ever laughed from reading. I highly recommend this book for all ages who want a guaranteed good time. For anyone who has tried to lose weight, chapter 18, "Pyramid Schemes," will have you rolling on the floor.

Summary: A must read!
Review: If you are finding yourself wondering why you didn't practice safe sex, then this book will be a refreshing and humorous break from your role as a mom. The chapter "Very Married" should be read by dads, too.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A Great Ride!
Review: Judy Gruen "knows best." Carpool Tunnel Syndrome is filled with wry observations and vignettes about motherhood and family life that run the gamut from humorous to poignant and strike home. Every few minutes I found myself laughing out loud and saying, "Yes!" If you want a great read, go along for the ride.

Summary: A light-hearted, poignant look at motherhood
Review: Judy Gruen is a modern Erma Bombeck. She turns everyday family situations into humorous and truth-filled observations. I found myself simultaneously laughing at the absurdity of the scenarios, yet nodding in all too familiar recognition. Carpool Tunnel Syndrome is a well-written, witty book appropriate for parents of all ages.

Review: Judy Gruen's book is probably one of the funniest books I have ever read. I laughed myself silly over the chapter "Why Guar Gum is Really a Vegetable", I nodded in agreement over "Stretch Marks: Every Mother's God-Given Right" and easily related to "Be It Ever So Humble". This book is for every woman who has ever experienced morning sickness, endured screaming toddlers in a supermarket and/or have fallen victim to a Stupid Parent Trick by precocious progeny. Judy has been there, done that and written a hilarious book about it. You'll love it!

Summary: CARPOOL TUNNEL SYNDROME
Review: This is a terrific book!! I laughed as I saw myself in so many of the situations Judy Gruen describes. It's really comforting to know that I am not alone in this!! Her children are so much like my own and her antecdoctes about her mother remind me exactly of my mother!! She shows such love and devotion to her family with a wonderfully funny sense of humor and perspective. I plan on giving this book to my friends for the holidays. They will love it!!
